Proverbs 21:9
King James Bible
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
I know what people do these days- divorce.
I cannot imagine too many brawling, argumentative, quarrelsome wives in the Anabaptist world.
But what if you had one?
I know of one Christian man who literally slept outside the house.
I’m presently very concerned about a husband & father whose wife has a temper & can be set off easily. I fear it’s affected him in the worse way & I heard something happened to his mental state last year by way of maybe a breakdown-
I was wondering what church leaders recommend in a case like that. That passage seems to offer peace by way of not being in the same house!

Re: A Quarrelsome Wife
There’s a joke going round the internet right now that reminded me of this very thing.
A preacher spotted a man attending his church that had got married in his church 40 years ago.
When greeting everyone after service the preacher congratulated the man on his anniversary.
Preacher - Congratulations on your anniversary! How are you going to celebrate this wonderful milestone?
Man: Well on our 20th anniversary I took her on her dream trip to Alaska. I guess for our 40th I’ll go back and get her.
