I realized earlier this week I was posed to hit 8K in posts soon, so thought I'd do a special poll. According to some quick research there are seven main types of arts as listed in the poll. I realize that some would be taboo in your specific church circle, and that's fine. I think there are a few that could be added like photography, but I'm sticking with the list I got. I also realize that many can be combined.

Anyone ever hear of Perler beads? My younger children got into these and are making some 3D objects. Maybe not quite an art, but quite crafty!

Mennonites shun art. And yet a friend of mine posits that art shows us truth. Not sure how he figures. But I think life would be better for us if we cultivated an appreciation for beauty and art.

I am not very artsy. My wife has taken up artsy painting and I am compelled to affirm and encourage her but if we did not have pictures hanging all over the walls at home, I would not even notice. Her health limits her and this is something she can do, so I am happy she is doing it.
