Well the Nationwide group I know doesn't allow internet at all and they don't have to worry about phone access as they use specially locked down flip phones. I actually bought one to use myself until I found out I need phone internet to do my charting on site.

I can see the point of a basic phone with no internet access but the "no camera" thing has me a bit lost. I take perhaps a dozen photos a day, most job related.

What, exactly, does a 13 or 16 year old need a smartphone camera for?

I didn't realize photography was so dangerous for a teenager :o

Is this a serious or sarcastic response, I cannot tell.

Both. I never once thought of restricting the use of a camera from a child. Never heard it preached against or anything. That's why I'm a bit perplexed here. :?

I think some would be concerned about the ease of taking and sharing intimate pictures. Also, especially among those who are attempting to use their phones only as a tool rather than a toy, and those concerned about phone addiction, there is concern that constantly photographing and videoing everything results in less real engagement with other people, and with life in general.
