The Charismatic "Glory Barn" ex-Amish/Amish in Israel/Lapp Brothers/Light of Hope Evangelistic Ministry folks put on a rally in DC yesterday. Many of you weren't here on MennoDiscuss during the Amish in Israel event. These appear to be the same folks. I didn't watch all of the two videos but I caught enough to understand that they were in DC to apologize to a group of listeners on behalf of the Amish and Mennonites. They appeared to possibly be rallying on behalf of the President as well; one of the speakers wears a hat with a message supporting the police. Ivanka Trump recently visited the impressive food bank Blessings of Hope run by some of these folks. So, a lot going on here...

I haven't watched the videos yet, but either Jake L or Jonas S mentioned on Facebook the other day that they were going to be out there on stage. I'm curious what exactly they were apologizing for, considering they are apparently presuming to apologize for Anabaptists in general...?

I'm sorry to say, I don't really know.

It looks like this was just a part of a larger rally by a Lance Wallnau.

This is largely “7 Mountains” theology. It is the logical end conclusion of merging Pentecostal theology with reformed theology, it has its origin in Gary North’s outreach into the Pentecostal movement. Basically it is reconstructionism with the scriptural check the reformed types has on it, as they can receive revelation now.
This can only end badly.

What is the actual name of their church? I've heard the Lapp Bro's and Light of Hope kicked around but never heard what denomination they consider themselves.

Sad. Interesting how we are so seduced by attention and power and influence. Sort of like the proverbial poor, ugly, unpopular girl being given attention by the most popular boy in school and being taken advantage by him. Intoxicating and confusing.
Politicians have no interest in hearing about "come out from among them" nor have any interest in hearing what the Plain people have to say about loving ones enemies or returning good for evil, or any other Plain value - certainly not honesty and letting your yay be yay, and your nay, nay. This collusion has not anything to do with Godliness, this is all drift by the Plain people toward the world and its politicians, not a drift of the politicians toward Godliness. Very simply, the Amish and Mennonites in non-battle ground states garner no attention from the politicians. I wish all the Plain people in PA & OH etc., would remember who they are.
I suppose these people vote. What these people are doing is much worse than voting, so not voting for them would be an odd position to take.

I dunno.
The more Mennonites join in with these pro-Trump evangelical rallies the more they just become another partisan interest group. And Lance Wallnau is most definitely a pro-Trump partisan. He holds $1000 plate evangelical fundraisers in Trump's Washington DC hotel. It's their right, of course. It's a free country. But I expect this sort of thing, if it happens on any sort of official level, will just further erode the Church's standing and authority as those who have different political opinions decide to wash their hands of it.
That's what I saw happening when I worked in Texas. The more the local Baptist churches became political and took partisan sides, the more their youth lost interest and moved on.

Why does seven mountains theology need a stage in Washington?

It was a Pro-Trump religious rally in DC over the weekend by a group of overtly-partisan pro-Trump evangelical ministers.
