Are you satisfied with your current church?

Post by steve-in-kville »

Obviously if you attend there, you must like something, right?

Would you change anything if you had the chance?

Discuss at will.

13 votes as of now. Would like to see more.

There's a few things I would change about my church, but its simply preference issues. There's nothing I dislike. The COB in our district is going through some changes at the moment. The next several months could get interesting 8-)

Some turmoil, politics going on, perhaps a power struggle. Us little people don't count. Otherwise a good fellowship. I would change some leadership. Do something so we don't just become robots.

There is more that I’d like to change about me when I consider it.

Every organization I've been part of has its own "flavor" of politics. Businesses, fire companies, churches, volunteer organizations... all had a political system. I learned to play the game or isolate myself. There's no in-between.

Having attended multiple Churches, Schools and even several Fire Departments (work required me to relocate a number of times), I believe I came to understand it in the context of Colleges first: go to school to get an education; if you join a Fire Department do so to serve those havin a bad day due to a fire, accident or illness, and go to Church to meet with God and meet your souls needs. Don’t go to school, church or civic organizations for political motivation although, believe me, you’ll find politics most everywhere!

I am not satisfied with my current church. I am really only at the Episcopal Church because the early service fits my work schedule and I like doing communion weekly. My theology isn't really Anglican at all.
