Daily shaving seems like it would be a bigger hassle to me.

Comedians are coming out of the woodwork here. Fortunately I'm not a man, so I don't have to beard the lion in this den. Come to think of it, male lions that are castrated lose their manes because of testosterone loss. Which loss I guess would be the mane consideration to the poor guys.

Someone once said that in today's society where the men are being feminized, and the perversion with LGBTQ crowd, having a beard stands out as being masculine.
I'm not sure where the idea of shaving came from and as I think about it, it doesn't make a lot of sense.
However, I've always shaved and prefer it that way.
I keep telling myself, someday I'll grow a beard...

I agree, daily shaving would prolly be a hassle. However once a week with a hoe works pretty good. My guess is its quicker than keeping a beard trimmed.

One historical basis for shaving is the NOT having a beard was advantageous during combat. You cannot grab a guy by the beard. Being serious

A good reason for growing a beard for those who don't support violence.

I would have thought that losing the handle would make it easier for a man to escape and therefore prevent violence!

The reason for this is generally based on the French military mandating mustaches around 200 years ago.

Now we have the opposite:
Department of War wrote:After a rapid force-wide review of military standards, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recently directed the Services to implement the following grooming standards for facial hair.

"The grooming standard set by the U.S. military is to be clean shaven and neat in presentation for a proper military appearance," said Hegseth.
I predict this will not change anyone's ordnung to require facial hair.
