They are simply saying that people who have been marginalized for all those reasons 'matter' and their voices should be heard. That seems a very Christian principle.
What does it actually mean that a voice should be "heard"? Must all voices be heard, completely regardless of whose voices they are? Do we really need to hear or give some kind of equal platform, equal time, or equal respect to the voice of a convicted mass murderer? A sexually confused or perverted person? A mentally ill person? A person with no knowledge of a given topic? Are certain people and certain voices marginalized due to the fact that they truly are from the margins, and rightfully so?
Should my voice be heard from the White House and the NYT opinion or front page? So we also have the question of, where? Does every voice deserve a bullhorn and a bully pulpit? Does every student have to also be disruptive in class, because after all, he must be “heard” and not marginalized? Should flat earthers be heard? I don’t see much in academia promoting the idea that Christians be heard.

No, the truth is, all this talk about being “heard” is only a facade. Only the people who are useful in pushing forward the far left agenda are the ones who must be “heard”. Because it is not about equality nor free speech. It is about the promotion of certain ideologies.

Jesus both saw & heard the Samaritan woman at the well. He offered her spiritual and emotional acknowledgement of who she was by both human and divine standards.

One house had a very large yard and so they had almost a billboard size sign the upper half said Biden the bottom half had black lives matter with a Black fist. There's certainly is that identification attached to the left at least the supporters for Biden I noticed another kind of sign in yards that had a lot of left type thinking in the yards that had Biden signs. It is a very divided political situation and cultural as well. We also saw rainbow flags flying in some of the houses that had Biden signs so you kind of can tell where the public is at that support Biden but the black lives matter organization is not just about race I hope you've taken the time to learn about the organization. Their current commercials on TV show a lot of marches through cities massive army type marches I just started seeing these commercials they're on in the middle of the night (oh, & they ask for donations)
Take a look at the BLM website. I believe Black Lives Matter is a front for a much greater agenda https://blacklivesmatter.com/about/?__c ... 9mHNPbTlQQ
We affirm the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, undocumented folks, folks with records, women, and all Black lives along the gender spectrum. Our network centers those who have been marginalized within Black liberation movements.
So which of THOSE black lives do you think DON'T matter? Just the LGBT ones? Or also the disabled ones, undocumented ones, female ones, or ones with records?
The movement and groups singled out have had their actions described in 2Timothy3:1-5, to which we are admonished, “from such, turn away.” How can you as a professing Christian defend such rioting and standing alongside them? And if you can, how will standing with them produce the persecution Timothy predicts in 2Timothy 3:12?

What about spiritual and emotional acknowledgement of sexual abusers and predators, liars, thieves, and cheaters? What weight should be given to their voices? How should we see and hear who they are, and value them as persons?

This really should be a thread all in its own...

We're all sinners. We're all gonna spend eternity somewhere. Anyone who is truly sorry for their sins deserves forgiveness. I guess my mind goes to the Sex Registry thread. Should a 13 y/o suffer for the rest of their lives as a registered offender for something dumb they did?

Clear as mud, I know.

If folks are a danger to society and/or themselves, clearly immediate appropriate intervention is necessary. (Ever hear of prison ministry or programs for offenders?)

One size never fits all. But all sizes have value, and there are ways by which they can be validated within appropriate context.

Yes. As the chairman of a prison literature ministry I think about these questions often.

I have never defended or stood by rioters. I do stand by those who have been marginalized and dispossessed in our society as was Jesus' example.

He knew she was ready to turn from her sins and live a decent, godly life.

. . . and for those not ready, have heard said that Jesus’ Father continues sending rain on them, too.

Methinks He may be “pro-life.”
