The litter box hoax should not distract from the fact that liberals like Ken literally refuse to acknowledge that furries exist. Refusing to accept reality just makes you crazy, it doesn't change reality. This is, ironically, the same problem that furries have.
Easy there. Keep in mind that many of us *liberals* were once way more conservative than half this forum ever was. Not that it makes us better... just different. (in a way that's better 8-) )
if i read correctly, the reference is to a particular subset of liberals, not all liberals. there are different definitions and
contexts for both words, liberal and conservative. also, being like or unlike the subset doesn’t equate to liking or disliking of the subset or individuals. i don’t read this as a broadbrush statement. as is, i wouldn’t take it personally. :) (nett may clarify.) :D

Ok Ken, go ahead and believe there is not a suicide and self harm issue with trans people. You can keep mocking them without any concern for their wellbeing.

Do you have some citation for that figure or did you just make it up?
I did not make it up, but you'll have to find the source on your own.

Try Google and type in "suicide rate transgender" and see what pops up.

Must we continue to be catty? (pun intended)

Ken, a few of these may be what Josh was referring to. One can contest the factors (and their legitimacy) leading to the numbers all day, perhaps, but there are indeed numbers available...

I was just questioning whether 41% of transgender people have actually killed themselves. Which is clearly not the case. Words have actual meanings. I didn't have to look it up to know that Josh was wildly wrong.

Apparently no one actually knows the percentage of transgender people who have actually committed suicide since transgender status is not something that is reported on death statistics unlike other data such as age, sex, race, and cause of death. The 41% is from a survey conducted in 2015 or 2016 and all 41% obviously did not succeed in their suicide attempts (or necessarily wanted to) or they would not have been part of the survey. Do you happen to know the overall percentage of teens who have attempted or thought about suicide is? 20% have thought about it and 9% have attempted it: https://connect.uclahealth.org/2022/03/ ... ng-adults/

I expect the actual suicide rate for transgender people is much higher than the general population despite the lack of actual statistics. I have seen statistics that estimate it at 2x higher than the general population but without citing any data. But it is nowhere close to 41%.

If you actually knew very many transsexuals, which I used to, you’d know it’s at least 41% - I personally think it’s higher. It is shocking how many people I used to know are deceased 25 years later.

Greater societal acceptance isn’t helping now either. There is plenty of evidence out there documenting the suicide rate but as usual I see you have decided to proclaim the evidence is wrong.

No, as usual you made wild assertions without evidence. I merely asked if there was any evidence to support your claim that 41% of all transexuals commit suicide (as opposed to attempt it) and others had to come here and correct the record for you.

If as you claim that OVER 41% of all transexuals actually commit suicide (rather than just think about it or attempt it) then surely you some evidence for that assertion don't you?

Ken,

Suicide rates are typically documented with "attempted or completed suicide in the last 12 months". One can safely assume that someone who keeps attempting will eventually succeed.

Overall, the amount of transsexuals who commit suicide at some point in their lifetime is estimated to be 41%. At fairly standard, mainstream, and easy to find resources like https://www.gendergp.com/what-is-the-tr ... cide-rate/, you can learn things like the following:
Also In the US, 20% of Trans and Non-Binary young people attempted suicide in 2020.
These are based on surveys which are not done regularly and are often ambiguated over some dimension such as age in the above statistic. And no, I'm not just making this stuff up, even though you seem to accuse me of that anytime I get out any kind of statistics or published, mainstream research.

If you knew anything anything about suicide treatment and prevention, you would know that ideation is extremely serious, and suicide attempts generally lead to success.

Didn't they teach you stuff as a public school teacher?
