In my view, without implicating police unions’ culpability, it’s a matter of identifying the odd scapegoat.
Christians and churches are specially positioned to persuade against committing sins+crimes.
Odd scapegoat? Who are you calling a scapegoat in Chauvin's murder of George Floyd?
this smells like a bunny trail .. .. i have tried to ignore this case. from the little i read, mostly last year, i believe chauvin had a problem employment record, enough that, if i read correctly, i don’t see how he could have been employed as he was. imho, unions are responsible for returning the incompetent/corrupt to active duty (whether police, teachers, or other). they are the “big fish” that should be held to task.
in my view, another elephant in the living room.
i’m not against unions, per se.
i’m against any entity that is seen to be above accountability. unions are proudly so.
“Derek Chauvin pleads guilty to federal charges connected to George Floyd's murder”
“The former Minneapolis police officer is expected to serve a federal sentence alongside his state prison term for Floyd's murder.” https://www.kare11.com/article/news/loc ... a85cc31590
i have nothing to say about his plea - aside from believing unions that kept DC on active duty - should be held accountable.
maybe moreso than DC.
And Pelosi doesn't have any idea where this "attitude of lawlessness" is coming from? Strange how things change in such a short time from a "defund the police" attitude to this lawlessness being "outrageous" and "it cannot continue".
'It's absolutely outrageous. Obviously, it cannot continue,' said Pelosi. 'But the fact is that there is an attitude of lawlessness in our country that springs from I don't know where. Maybe you do?' said Pelosi, when asked about a spate of robberies.
And the mayor of SF is calling for this:
'It's time the reign of criminals who are destroying our city, it is time for it to come to an end,' she fumed. 'And it comes to an end when we take the steps to more aggressive with law enforcement. More aggressive with the changes in our policies and less tolerate of all the bulls*** that has destroyed our city.'

From where i sit, violent crimes and smash+grab plundering is *NOT* confined to big cities. the walls are closing in.
it’s pretty devastating to see continuing and increasing destruction, it’s on a scale that i do not see how “incompetent old hens throwing fits in elected office” are going to be able to change - even if they wanted to.
Illinois has lost so much since 2007. i suppose this will finish it off. brick+mortars that are left will disappear. why wouldn’t they?
even dogs know not to soil their own beds.
it would be nice if the elected incompetent would just admit they were wrong, and apologize. to the world.
Bloomington, IL: historically, a clean Midwest college small town with a few insurance companies as employers:
“$7,000 in perfume taken from Eastland Mall, police say” https://pantagraph.com/news/local/crime ... c4dcc.html
The videos reflect how these criminals have no fear, they just do as they please, no one hampers them in any way.
Notice, Mayor Lightfoot refers to them as “folks.” i guess she thinks they just took a wrong turn on their way to church.
