I posted this on my governor's facebook page this morning. I am not very good at being the quiet in the land.
You were asked why you allowed churches to gather, but not other social functions. The real reason should be that it is protected in the 1st amendment while other social functions are not. If the government can restrict churches, then they can restrict the press and speech. All are protected in the same amendment. If one part is restricted, then all of it is. I do not see the press allowing the government to restrict them.

Seems the DOJ is agreeing.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/states ... s-lockdown
The Justice Department has sided with a Virginia church suing Gov. Ralph Northam after police threatened a pastor with jail time or a $2,500 fine for violating lockdown restrictions by holding a service on Palm Sunday – marking the latest incident where federal lawyers or local courts have challenged a state’s stay-at-home mandates during the coronavirus pandemic.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr made it clear last month that federal prosecutors should "be on the lookout" for overly restrictive state and local shutdown orders that may infringe on people's constitutional rights – especially when it comes to the First Amendment.

I have to say that the thread I posted is blowing up and I am having a blast with it. Aren't you all glad I am being me over there and not here?

Ohio’s government has been very clear they can’t curtail religious services, only recommend they stay under a certain size.

Anyone who thinks they should be able to ban gatherings is a petty tyrant.

I am not saying they were being smart or doing the best thing. I am saying that government can not restrict religion constitutionally.

Not really an Anabaptist thing, but freedom of speech should be very important to us in all areas since much of our speech would be considered a minority voice.

Is he right? Not sure why it is showing a shot of Governor Cuomo. This is Charlie Kurt talking.

I see church as essential, but I also see it as something clearly protected by law ie the 1st Amendment.

I see liberal, leftist governments aren’t taking the same draconian measures with protests and riots. If riots and protests are OK, I cannot comprehend how church cannot be OK.

Tanner Cross was put on administrative leave and forbidden from accessing school property for comments he made at a School Board meeting. He has been seriously vindicate on a judgment on his TRO and Preliminary Injunction.
He said he would not call someone a preferred pronoun because of religious objection.
