Thanks for the advice, friends. My wife ordered some coverings from Garlands of Grace, they have nice stuff. In the meantime she wears a headband with flamingos on it. Not sure it would be acceptable in all conservative circles but I am sure the angels don't mind.
I would think flamingos would make it awfully unstable. Where does one even find flamingos?
I have a fellow coworker that wears a button up shirt with pink flamingos on it for casual Fridays. His wife apparently a flamingo fanatic and got for him as a gift. So he humors her and wears it.
Does his wife raise them? How does he get them to stay on the shirt? I suppose one on each shoulder, and maybe a young one in the pocket?
Why do people wear flamingos? I never heard of the like. Seems heavy and cumbersome. Does PETA care?

Is that the passage that goes on to say that if she doesn't have any hair to use as a covering, she should cut her hair off?
I always did say men should really cut off their hair to be consistent
Now I have a picture in my mind of Sudsy as a skinhead! And it's all your fault!
I try to maintain a skinhead look but I still have some fringes to keep cutting. I also have a moustache I keep trimmed and a short goatee beard to cover up a double chin. Pretty scary, eh ?
When this topic keeps surfacing on this forum I wonder why it gets so much attention when other issues that are in the SOM, such as fasting, gets so little.
If it is an act of obedience in serving the Lord as one believes it to be, then go for it. If it is an attempt to portray a 'holier-than-thou' appearance to other Christians who don't wear a material covering but view this more from a Corinthian culture practise, then it is suspect, imo. God knows our hearts that causes us to live in ways of obedience.

I'm most likely guilty of half of them. I think its because the headcovering is one of the main identifiers of being Amish, Mennonite or Brethren? As a young convert in the mid-90's, the hanging veil made huge waves due to Charity being in its hay day, so to speak. Others here can speak to that way better than I can, though.
