I don't exactly have a direct phone line to CAM, but the new leadership in CAM is very eager to listen. They aren't going to be eager to listen to someone who just comes demanding large amounts of money get paid out. But I think they'd be open to listening to allegations that someone is giving money to "local gangs" (although I highly doubt this is what is actually happening).
If Rick wants to get in touch with CAM leadership, and can't get ahold of them, tell him to get in touch with me, and I can try to broker a meeting.
Rick HAS been in touch with CAM on more than one occasion. They do not seem to be very helpful.
Since you are the one questioning his character I believe the onus is on you to reach out to him and ascertain for yourself what his intentions are. Please do so.

The onus on me is to do absolutely nothing. If he's having trouble reaching someone at CAM, I'd be glad to try to reach someone on his behalf and share the concerns he's brought forward.
There's not much that can be done with a random Facebook post making allegations that CAM is funding gangsters in Haiti, though.
You can be assured that I will be one of the first to loudly proclaim if I think CAM is stonewalling or being unresponsive or avoiding the issue. If his approach towards CAM has been anything like his Facebook posts, well, I can see why he's not getting anywhere.

He has been in touch with CAM. However if you know someone at CAM who genuinely wants to help the victims in Haiti then perhaps you could reach out to them and reach out to Rick and facilitate a meeting. I would direct Rick to you but I don't think it's very friend-like of me to ask him to get in touch with someone who took the immediate stance that he's a "bad actor" out to get large payouts from CAM. On the other hand if you choose to reach out to him then I would take that as a sign of goodwill and an indication that you are willing to listen to his concerns. There are things from FB that I could post to show that he's cared about the people in Haiti years before Jeriah Mast's crimes came to light, but I choose to not share anything from his Facebook account that he hasn't posted for the public to see.

Unfortunately, I’ve become sceptical of many who claim to want to help victims. If he continues to claim CAM won’t talk to him, the offer is open where I agreed to help, anytime.
As a somewhat removed onlooker, this episode strikes me as a tempest in a teacup. Paying gangs? That ought to grab headlines.
I have a close relative working for CAM in the Haiti compound. In one of the mass emailed updates, it was reported that some CAM people in the past had given money to gangs, but it is not advised.
What exactly were the circumstances that was done? I don’t know. Didn’t ask, doesn’t matter. But wouldn’t surprise me if it was either some low level bribes or blackmail in order for some insignificant thing to happen. Just imagining something here, but imagine something along the lines of an illegal roadblock being thrown up, and your choice is to pay a few bucks to get through, or waste the rest of your day getting to where you are going via a detour.
What I really doubt happened, was that CAM woke up one morning and decided that their mission would be better served by cutting back on the victims money, and instead giving it and giving food to gangs.
It also seems odd that Rick is both lambasting CAM for paying money and for not paying money.
But as strange as the post seems, I do hope that CAM isn’t dropping the ball again. I hope they are doing everything they can for those people. And if they aren’t, then good for Rick for shaking things up again.

We're at this two years now. I've said this a dozen times before here on MN... when this all broke I had hoped that this situation would have woken up the conservative circles to abuse. A handful of groups that I am familiar with "rode the wave" for a while. Until it was put to the test... victims came forward... and then were all manner of excuses as to why things couldn't be pursued.
