Every Plain church maybe. There are many Christian churches with 3 children being the high number.

What are the numbers for your congregation?
For those over 40 who will not likely have more children:

Range: 2-12
Average: 5.5
Mean: 5.5
Mode: 5

Interesting because this was exactly my guess for intermediate conservatives.

They remain in ACC. After the departure of G&T there was no interest in changing affiliation.
Reading back through the thread, I owe HK an update. Conestoga moved from ACC to LMC a couple years ago. This was partly due to recruiting a pastor from LMC, but the trajectory of ACC and MCUSA was also a factor.

Ten. Age 44 and above. I left out the young families who seem likely to have more.

I confess to be confused by this thread and until hesitated to comment. I do suppose that any thread this long inherently wanders from its Origen.

I believe it was Earnie very far back and made a key point. These terms to describe the various church groups is NOT definitive outside context. Many use the terms as put down by Stephen Scott’s book. And those terms are fine, it ONLY in that context. No one in Eastern calls themselves ultra conservative. Indeed, I find the term progresses Conservative a bit of an oxymoron BUT am fine with it in Scott’s groupings. The point being we really should be careful with these terms and probably includes context.

Thanks OJ! I think I remember Bryce Petersheim telling me as much last time we talked.
