hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, "'Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise'
With all the verses you have stated...how do you make the connection that they mean infants are to be baptized? Can you expound on it a bit more?

I personally am not seeing a contextual connection with those verses and baptism since that wasn't being discussed in those instances (Mt 18:3, 19:14, or Ps 8:3). The only case you can make an argument for is the "household" argument with the jailer in Acts, since baptism was actually referenced directly in that passage.

I’ve always been curious about Anabaptism. I’ll be there on Thursday at 7 PM.

You go right ahead and do that. Unfortunately for you, unless you are a time traveler it seems likely that you will not be in time for Mr. Bercot's talk.

Perhaps he can give us an AI-generated summary.

I'm not suggesting he is trying to hide this part of his journey, but I've got the impression he is not particularly proud of the Anglican priest detour in his journey to Anabaptism. It was motivated by his embrace of apostolic succession as a result of his research on the early church. Perhaps some Anabaptists might hold this against him and see him susceptible to theological errors.
Right. From what he has told me, he took some people's word at face value and didn't do enough research before doing the Anglican thing.

If a person is on a journey and takes the wrong road, but soon realizes his mistake and gets back on the right road, I see that as a positive. What bothers me is those who take a wrong road, but are too proud to back track and get on the right road again because doing so would be eating humble pie.

I’ve always found it amusing the Episcopalians were so eager to ordain a lawyer. I guess they’re true to their heritage.

If I understand correctly, the continuing Anglicans, that Bercot was part of, are not Episcopalians.

Ernie what do you think of some of Bercot's writings? Do you think he's heading down the right path?

In America, the denomination that is from church plants by the Church of England (Anglican) was called "Episcopalian" which is a reference to the church governance structure (much like Presbyterian or Congregationalist).

I'm not sure when, but some time in the past few decades, there was a big split over the topic of homosexuality in the main Episcopal church, and those who took a traditional stance of Biblical sexual ethics left the Episcopal church and named themselves "The Anglican Church of America". A bit of a strange name, since "Anglican" refers to the English, but it was the best way to differentiate.

Roughly speaking, they are from the same tradition, but Anglicans would be catagorized as Evangelical, while Episcopalians would be categorized as Mainline. I'm not sure if there is a branch of that tradition that could be classified as Fundamentalist.

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.

One could say that both the Episcopalians and Anglicans are both episcopalian and Anglican (although I would argue that many Mennonite church conferences, like Eastern, are effectively episcopalian).
