At the grocery store alone, I came across people who were absolutely rude, people who went out of their way to be polite, and some folks who appeared to be having a rough day.

It doesn't hurt to smile, to let someone go ahead of you in line, or to help an older person load a case of bottled water into their trunk. We as Americans, and I hate to say it, we as Christians are way too quick to stereotype.

We want to label people that are dressed a certain way as "trailer trash" or a young lady with a bi-racial child as some "hoochie mama" and assume they brought that life onto themselves. Maybe they did. Maybe they could have prevented some things. We don't know, therefore we should be slow to judge.

Everyone we meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Be kind always 8-)

May God add his blessing.
Kindness is one of the descriptions of the fruit of the Spirit - Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Kindness applies also to how we treat each other as believers - Gal 5:26
We must not become conceited, challenging or provoking one another, envying one another.
Commentary on this verse -
Let us not be desirous of vain-glory: ambition or vain-glory is a natural corruption, disposing us to boast and commend ourselves, and to seek the honour and applause of men.
Provoking one another; this is an effect of the former, disposing us, out of hope of victory, to challenge others to a contest with us.
I think forums like this is one area that exposes our maturity in kindness toward one another and how well we are being controlled by the Spirit.

Sometimes we Christians can be more kind toward an unbeliever than toward another believer. This sometimes shows up when we contend for what we believe and the way that we should live. This too requires kindness and not giving way to the flesh. It costs the flesh being subdued by the Spirit.
