I understand that Cornerstone Mennonite Church is a breakaway group originally part of the Wisler Mennonite conference.

It was established in 2011 as an independent group, no conference that I am aware of. It appears to be firmly exstablished, and growing.

Minister’s are Charles Ramer and Delton Weaver, with Frank Martin as Deacon. Acting bishop would be Maurice Amstutz of Wooster, OH.

If you need more detailed info, let me know. I’ll dig around a bit.

I have made contact with a person (long interesting story) presumably in Henderson NV. Does anyone know if there any churches or folks nearer to that than the church(s) in Los Angeles?

There is a Dunkard Brethren church in Beaumont, CA, which is marginally closer.
Winterhaven (CA) Dunkard Brethren Church
1138 E 12th Street
Beaumont, CA 92223

There is an Apostolic Christian Fellowship in Prescott, AZ, and I have heard rumblings of a Mennonite church plant there also. Have no information on the latter.

Sorry, the only Mennonite church in Nevada is much further than LA.

Is anyone aware of any conservative Anabaptist churches in Connecticut / Rhode Island?

I'm aware of the Holdeman mission / service unit in Hartford and some Apostolic Christian churches. I have heard there is a Followers of the Way type of group in Providence, Rhode Island. That's all I know of.

If you'd prefer to PM me the info please feel free to do so.

Thanks!

Does anyone know of a CA church within 1/2 hour of Myerstown, PA that does really well with people who have lots of needs, health needs, emotional needs, single mom needs, etc. I'm thinking of the kind of church where parishioners might say, "I just love my church. The people take such good care of each other... We have support groups for various kinds of people... we are sort of a hospital for the needy... "

I’m impressed with the Keystone affiliate in Myerstown for various reasons. Also impressed with the Charity affiliate there as well for other reasons.

Ernie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2016 7:03 am This is a thread for people who are looking for a Conservative Anabaptist church or something similar that does not allow for divorce and remarriage and that practices separation from the world, nonresistance, modest dress, head-covering for women, etc.

I used to provide this service on MennoDiscuss but have now put this into the good hands of Josh and Judas M. They have access to the same database that Cory Anderson uses at the BeachyAM.org site.
This database is much more comprehensive than the database offered by CLP.org or pilgrimministry.org.

Conservative Anabaptists (and other churches that have a strong two kingdom theology), vary a lot in their practice and vary a lot in how they relate to people inside the church and outside the church.
The only way to really know what people are like is to visit a church and get to know them.
This website gives some details for what you might expect at an Intermediate Conservative Mennonite church.
Josh and Judas and some of the other conservative Anabaptists on MennoNet can help you process what you are experiencing and sensing as you visit a church and they can give you some good advice.
I'm often available via Private Message if there is a specific question that you have for me.

If you are interested in learning more about the common values of Old Order and Conservative Anabaptists you will likely want to read this article.

For an overview of the different Anabaptist groups and some thoughts on choosing a church with which to fellowship, An Overview of the Plain People will give you lots of information.

If you want to become familiar with the names of Conservative Anabaptist conferences and fellowships and who affiliates with who, you can visit this page. The numbers are out of date but perhaps someone will want to take the time to update them at some point.

Ever since the Anabaptist movement began in 1525, it has been difficult for Anabaptists to stay separate from the world while retaining the vision and values of the early Anabaptists.
This chart shows what happened in North America as various groups have tried to avoid assimilating into the surrounding host culture.

I request that only those who identify as Conservative Anabaptists and only those with a good attitude, would make comments or provide information in this thread.
Others may submit comments to Josh and Judas M. and they can post the information if they think it would be helpful.

Anyone is welcome to ask questions!

Check out this website. It has a really extensive list/map of conservative Anabaptist churches.
