That's a concept I want to ponder a bit. Our county has two Walmart's, but I think we just got our first Starbucks. I'll have to poll some co-workers who are deeper political thinkers than I. I'll get back to you on this 8-)
Somehow I get the feeling that there are a lot of blue voters in your Lebanon Walmart on Saturday night.
I've been surprised at how diverse most districts are even after all the work to make them monolithic. Even red areas like Alabama have enough democrats to elect Doug Jones if the Republican candidate is unattractive.

I would agree. My adult son told me he's had a Netflix account for near 5 years and he has no reason for TV and/or cable.
I think the main thing is, you can control content when it is self-selective but you can't really do that if it is broadcasted. That said, I think we should have filtered internet and smartphone access and at least with my iPhone, I've voluntarily restricted it (which you can do with the iPhones).

On a personal level, why filtered internet? The Bible says as a man is in his heart, so is he. If having a filter is the only thing keeping you from going places you shouldn't, what good is it?

With that attitude, you will soon start blaming the man who lusts rather than the woman he is lusting after! :D

A wise God once said "if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off"

But usually it is your head that causes you to sin.

The brain is in the head, but Jesus called it the "heart", which is what we now think of as one of the functions of the brain.
For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.
Jesus also taught us to take up our cross, embrace the death of our own sinful nature. That is the cutting it off.

Because as a seeker, it is one more step towards complete removal of the internet from my life. My particular sect of Christianity tries to be radical non-conformists with the trends of the world. This includes, not actually using the internet. I'm not perfect. It takes time moving from an NMB to a full conversion Nationwide style.

I did the whole seeker-to-perfection thing and dipped deep into the depths of radical Anabaptism. I'm old and tired now and have more questions than answers.

It's a pretty cool trick to post here without using the internet.
