Lessons from the lives of Samson, David, and Solomon

Post by Thomas_muntzer »

The strongest man was destroyed by lust.
The wisest man was destroyed by lust.
The man after God's own heart was destroyed by lust.
Samson, Solomon, David: let all men, great and small, novice and scholar, fear the sin of lust, for it destroys even the strongest, wisest, and holiest among us.
Flee fornication!
Flee from the strange woman!
Delight in your lawful wife!

– Proverbs 5:18-23:
"May your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth, a loving doe and a graceful roe; may her breasts satisfy you always, and her love make you drunk forever. My son, why should you be drunk with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he watches all his paths. The wicked will be caught by his own iniquities, and will be caught in the snares of his sin. He will die for lack of instruction, and perish because of his great want
