If a violent takeover of the Capitol does not register, that's a real sign of collapse. Brouhaha? Seriously? Would it be a brouhaha if Democrats were doing it? Or if Black LIves activists were doing it? Would you yawn and excuse it and explain that it's really nothing?

Since you see me as a non-thinking person, maybe I am just a "bear of little brain". Could you please explain why you think this is just a minor brouhaha?

Once more, then i exit, at least for now.

If i could create a CHART to graph the YEARS OF HOURS devoted to railroading a U.S. sitting president, which included formal proceedings, but also thousands+thousands of hours of dedicated smearing, 24-7, on every level, from the streets to high leadership, then compare the miniscule few hours (if that) in D.C., by a few people (by your own admission to Grace above) .. AND if that chart could also reflect the MONTHS OF HOURS of violence+destruction in various locations around the U.S. in 2020, the DC scuffle might not show up as a blip on the chart/screen.

The power of the media and partisan politicians effectively REVERSE those facts, thus folks like you get all emotional and cry out “the sky is falling, the sky is falling.” The powerful ones don’t even thank you for your time. (i’m sorry.) :-|

If media deemed the DC scuffle was “nothing,” it would not be a point of discussion.
The lib propaganda situation is THAT bad.

Future posts on railroading, as well as those with political content, are at risk of relocation to a more appropriate venue.

Question: When you think of countries that collapsed, what countries do you think of? What happened to them? What does it mean for a country to collapse? What were the causes of their collapse?

When I try to think of concrete countries, I'm not sure that they fail because of some of the reasons people have given here.

My first thoughts go to Yugoslavia in the 1990s, Germany in the time of Hitler, Russia in 1917, the United States during the Civil War. Are these good examples? What other examples can you think of?

Do you believe in historical determinism? I agree with Karl Popper's book, "The Poverty of Historicism," which rejects "laws of historical destiny" altogether. Here is how he dedicated his book:
In memory of the countless men and women of all creeds or nations or races who fell victim to the fascist and communist belief in Inexorable Laws of Historical Destiny.
It's a really good read. There's a summary of it on Wikipedia. I am generally skeptical of most "laws of history." As an older person who lived in both West and East Berlin before unification, I have seen the pain of both Nazism and Marx-Leninism.

I am especially skeptical of iron laws of history that tell us we need to band together against some group of people - the Bourgeoisie, Jews, immigrants - and give our loyalty to some political faction. Even if "religious" people are pushing for that.

As others are describing, “collapse” can occur in numerous ways. i hope the discussion does not fall into singular definition of extremes as you are referencing.

Frankly, reviewing Robert’s posts in this thread might be helpful. Starting on Page 2. For those open to consideration.

In history, the U.S. has been described at different points in time as a country unlikely to fall from direct violent attack.
The “soft spot” is INTERNAL weakness due to poor leadership, corrupt or incompetent leadership, and/or moral decay.
THE ENEMY WITHIN.

i do believe the U.S. has been far more damaged from within than from any outside country. including Russia.

you find “railroading” a more off-topic, or inappropriate, word than “insurrection” or “storming” or other? :?
honest question.

speaking for myself, i have never visited reddit, or other sites i sometimes hear about.
i have no plans to begin.

Sure. But the vast majority of people you are calling Marxists don't believe this stuff. Not even remotely. This is no different from calling all Republicans Nazis.
As far as I can recall, I didn't specify anyone as a Marxist, let alone a "vast majority" of anyone.

Would you provide the specific quotation where I called anyone a Marxist, so I know what you're referring to, please?

Perhaps you could just clarify if I misunderstood. What made you mention Marxism?

Perhaps you could just quit misrepresenting what I said in your posts. It's not appreciated.

Let's put it this way: would you be outraged if there were investigations into the Biden Administration? If there were, do you think Democrats would be justified if they reject the results of the next election and storm the capitol? I hope not. Why should it be different for Trump and Republicans?
Would you be outraged if the Trump administration illegally spied on Biden’s campaign people? Or acquired a FISA warrant based on a fake dossier about Biden? Would you be outraged if Biden was investigated based on hearsay and unverifiable information?

Do you think Democrat's were justified in indirectly supporting organizations who rioted, burned Federal buildings, looted, destroyed businesses , and destroyed people's lives?
