For the past while I have been studying history: late OT, inter-testament, early church and reformation. Since I travel a fair amount in my work, I find that audio books are a good way for me to cover a lot of material. It is not as thorough as reading, but it gives me a good overview, and I can go back and read parts that contain material I am interested in.
I am wondering if there are others that use audio books for this type of material, and if so, thought it might be helpful if we could share resources.
I have listened to a number of books from Audible and Librivox. I have also downloaded messages from Sermonaudio and AIC. What are your favorite sources for material?
I recently started experimenting with text-to-speech for e-books. I'm using FBReader with the FBReader TTS+. One problem is that that setup does not do copyrighted e-books. Does anyone know of a set-up that does?
I was currently trying to listen to the Complete Writings of Menno Simon's, but the free download I found is full of OCR errors. Does anyone know of a source for a good digital copy?

Thank you, Quiet for those links. I am familiar with the Anabaptist Perspectives site, but the Faith Builders collection is a new one for me. I'm look forward to listening to them.

Not only that, but that is almost certainly the older translation from German to English (by Funk), and (in my opinion) the translation is stilted and harder to read/understand than the later translation directly from Dutch.singitagain wrote: I was currently trying to listen to the Complete Writings of Menno Simon's, but the free download I found is full of OCR errors. OCR technology saves a LOT of time in digitalization, but it requires hours of work to fix the errors like those you are encountering. Do you own a printed copy of the Dutch to English translation?

Neto, the copies of Menno's Works I had found so far were all John F. Funk's edition. But after looking some more I found these.
http://www.mennosimons.net/completewritings.html - an online copy of Funk's edition without the errors
https://store.mennomedia.org/Complete-W ... -P675.aspx - a digital copy of Verduin's translation for $12.99
