This is a rather wild case. The summary from Chris Brunet seems to be accurate.

Fortunately, Texas' Attorney General is at least making sure the "parents" can't arrange to have the newborn baby denied medical care in the hopes he will just die:

These sperm & egg donors (I refuse to call them parents) then further bullied and abused the surrogate mother:According to West’s filing, Ahmed and Gilkar sought to enforce an abortion clause in their surrogacy agreement because of the baby’s condition, but West hesitated.
In the first week of May, she was scheduled to have the abortion — a dilation-and-evacuation procedure — in Seattle. West described the “deep pain and sorrow” she felt as the date approached as she wrestled with whether to go through with the abortion, according to the complaint.
Murdering a baby because it's inconvenient.West said Ahmed and Gilkar urged her to continue with the termination process and to seek mental health counseling, according to her complaint. She also alleged that she received a letter from her attorney on May 7 saying that if she didn’t have the abortion, she would be in breach of her surrogacy agreement and potentially liable up to $250,000.
She accused the couple of trying to intimidate her into having the procedure, her complaint says.
A response the couple’s attorney filed in Alaska alleges that West was “clear and knowing in her intention to abide by” the parents’ request for a termination if tests revealed a fetal abnormality.
A specialist in Alaska told Ahmed and Gilkar that the baby’s condition would require “highly specialized medical care” and that he would most likely face a “lifelong course of serious medical challenges,” according to their filing. Termination was presented as an option because of the severity and uncertainty of the baby’s prognosis, they said.

It is absolutely disgusting that any human being would behave this way towards their own child, particularly when someone else (the surrogate mother, in this case) seems perfectly willing to keep the baby.Paxton filed a motion Monday in Texas asking the court to issue an order for doctors to perform surgery after the child’s birth while the custody dispute is being fought in the courts. He alleged that the biological parents may seek to move the child to California and that they may deny the baby care.
A temporary restraining order was issued Tuesday in favor of Texas’ intervention, and a court-appointed guardian was to receive all “pertinent medical information” about the baby after his birth.
