Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Normally, that doesn't mean a country is collapsing. It has certainly happened plenty of times in the US.

But I see that the president is now talking about regime change in Cuba. Who's next after Cuba? And ... what's the long-term plan for any of these countries? Nicaragua? Iran? Cuba?

Remember when presidents used to spend time convincing the American people and Congress that military action was required?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Wife: Fascinating. I was at a store that was shutting down last week buying cheap groceries, and I saw another lady who was loading up for a trip to Cuba this week with some mission group. She was a little surprised they were still going, so I wonder if they’re leaving this week or not.

Yeah I remember disasters like Iraq 2 and Afghanistan and I've had others tell me how bad Vietnam was.

So why rush into more potential disasters?

Or what reason do we have to believe that less planning will lead to greater success? So far, I'm surprised by some of the things the government says they are surprised by in this war. Why are these things surprising? Haven't we seen them in other wars?

Is whim and secrecy the best way to plan wars, letting one man decide for the entire country?

Is there any evidence that government "planning" somehow leads to greater success?

Losing its oil from Venezuela has caused a domino effect. No oil = no electricity which they’re now sitting in the dark and can’t run their machinery. There’s bad food shortages and folks are fleeing the island. The ones still there are calling for communism to go away and want liberty.

I truly hope they can navigate what comes next without war or being bombed. A peaceful transition would be a blessing.

Yep it sure would be a blessing. Apparently the folks in Cuba are already talking to our state department about negotiations for help.
