Neither Alaska nor Hawaii is entirely - or even mostly - dependent on California for petroleum products.

Alaska and Hawaii can buy petroleum products from anyone who can ship these products by sea. There are no pipelines from California to Alaska or Hawaii. Neither state is restricted to tankers from California.

Hawaii imports most of its petroleum products, mostly from foreign countries.

Alaska does not import most of its petroleum produucts. Alaska produces crude oil and has oil refineries of its own, enough to supply much of what it needs. Alaska is a major oil exporter. Alaska imports a lot of petroleum products too. It's a huge state, with limited transportation infrastructure, so it is easier for some regions to import certain fuels from other states by sea.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

If this is really happening this is very bad news for Californians (and zNV & AZ)

It's really only a problem for California since the government mandated obsolete formulations for gasoline, and other states don't want to make their refineries produce toxic, expensive fuel.

That’s a big “only”.

Found in the OP Youtube link description:
“California's refinery shutdowns aren't just a West Coast problem—Alaska and Hawaii depend on California-refined fuel for nearly everything, from daily commutes to military operations.

With pipelines closing and refineries shutting down, these isolated states face a supply crisis with no easy alternatives.

This video breaks down the hidden connections, the military implications, and what happens when the fuel stops flowing to America's most remote states.

J.Nigel has lots of videos. Another recent one:

Your Grocery Bill Just Got 25% More Expensive — Here's Why Nobody's Talking About It | Jackson Nigel / -18min
California's refinery shutdowns aren't just raising gas prices—they're quietly destroying grocery store economics across the state. Every product on your shelf traveled hundreds or thousands of miles, and diesel costs just jumped 40% in key shipping corridors. Small independent markets are getting crushed while chain stores pass costs directly to you. This breakdown reveals exactly how much of your grocery bill is now pure transportation cost—and what happens next as two more refineries prepare to close.

Considering he thinks Alaska and Hawaii get their fuel from California refineries and that California problems will affect fuel prices in Nevada, I'm not sure how much of an "energy expert" he is. He's certainly an expert at getting people to watch his videos, though.

Not a bad place to begin informal dialogue.
