Discuss at will. Its been a solid four years since the pandemic kicked off. A lot of water under the bridge since then.

Four years ago this week we were starting COVID lockdown.

I expect most of us are better off now.

The wealthy are better off. The bottom 50% of America, the America that doesn't yet own a home... has been left behind.

That photo

Food and fuel prices collectively have increased our family's cost of living by at least 100% since February 2020 so in that category, no, we are in a worse position.

Being in a worse position has us depending on God more for help so spiritually, I see that as a positive.

My utilities are at least 50% higher, possibly more.

Covid didn't affect us other than having to wear masks and be conscience about social distancing. Something we gladly did to protect ourselves and others. Even though some would say that masks and social distancing wasn't much of a protection from Covid. I realize we have so much to be grateful for. However the high cost of fuel required for our business, higher interest rates, higher utility rates, etc. and the general high cost of food and everything else, we definitely are NOT better off than we were four years ago. However we still have it far better than many of the people in this nation, who can't afford food, rent, housing, in today's economy. And for that we are grateful.

I think it is a compliment to be called an 'alien' as that is what scripture calls us.

When adverse times come we may benefit from the 'rug being pulled out from under us' if we have placed too much confidence in a 'rug' of things of this world to trust on. I think Paul was a good example of one who knew how to respond to adverse circumstances. Few have gone through the hard times that Paul faced.

I thought this was a good article with thoughts on Paul's life and how he did not allow bitterness to get control over him over his circumstances in life.

Susy said it well. I am an alien and I am as well off as the king of universe has seen fit.

What is a Susy?

Supersymmetry - Wikipedia
A supersymmetric theory is a theory in which the equations for force and the equations for matter are identical. In theoretical and mathematical physics, any theory with this property has the principle of supersymmetry (SUSY).
