Passing of Keith Crider

Post by Ernie »

Keith Crider passed on today...
He was a senior bishop in the Southeastern Mennonite Conference. Keith worked at CLP and his children have worked their also.
Aaron, a son, writes...

"I just got word that my dad fell through a skylight and died. My parents have been in Guatemala City the last few days, having helped my brother Andrew's family move there earlier this week. We'll appreciate your prayers."

The old woodcutter spoke again. “It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?"

I heard about this an hour ago. It is really devastating for a friend of mine, to whom Keith was like a father.

Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily. -Heb. 13:3

Aaron Crider...
We'll appreciate your prayers."

"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give [the Crider family] his peace at all times and in this situation.."
2 Thes 3:16

This is hard.

We are so sad for his family and his church.

Keith, Eva and their children were so kind to our family in 1999, helping us settle into a new community,
sharing fellowship through church and home schooling, volunteering together at the local prison in Bible studies,
expository biblical preaching, discussing medical ethics, etc.

We only had 3 years to relate closely, but I will always treasure the way he listened and the things he taught me.

Keith was a quiet, servant leader who loved his family and the Bible.
I remember him living a transformed, Jesus-centered life.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Ps 116:15
