Whenever you ban something, it just pushes people to access the gray/black market for product or services. In no way shape or form am I in favor of abortions, but I wonder how many "underground" clinics will pop up (more than there are already).

I am very sad about the 63 million children that were murdered since the year I was born.
I am amazed that there is a significant enough conscience against abortion to get this overturned nearly 50 years later. (In addition to murder, it is taking advantage of the weak and vulnerable, something the Lord speaks out often against in the Bible.)

I'm quite sure the overturning of this ruling, as well as strict limitations in states like Texas and Mississippi will result in less murders and at least some more children will get a chance at life.
What I don't know is whether more babies will be abandoned at dumpsters, and so forth.

This is a time for the Christian church do get really proactive about helping unwanted babies or babies from unfit mothers, to find an adopted home that is Christian and kind!

i believe it will be a positive, but not nearly in ratio with damage done over decades.

a positive is it gives churches a golden opportunity to communicate God’s word+way, and why God’s way is so much superior to human courts of law. no matter the human law.

churches have the opportunity to guide hearts+minds in ways the courts, human law, gov schools, et al., cannot.
the value of life. traditional families. self-respect, being reflections of God. personal responsibility. accountability.

Truth is life-giving.

I am cautiously optimistic that the final decision will be for the same result.
If I understand correctly this draft is from three months ago which means there has been plenty of time for one or more judges to re-consider their vote. I would be truly disappointed if this needed to be re-worked into a dissent, but it could happen.

I think continued prayer is in order that this abomination might be removed from this country.

There will be no ban on for-profit protected gov-funded abortion.
Some states have been 100% invested in assuring this. Illinois is one. Proudly so.

It's not going to be banned, it's going to back to the states to legislate it. Personally, I don't think criminalizing obtaining an abortion makes sense. It's should be criminalized to provide one.

yes. and, from what i’ve read, recent laws in some states seeking to eliminate/reduce abortions have been FOCUSED on making this distinction. (essentially ignored in news+opinion pieces.)

Agreed, as I said in the other thread, overturning Roe v. Wade would give the power back to the states and the people, and not the nine unelected justices whose purpose is to make sure our laws are Constitutional. I predict every state, will allow it, but set the amount of weeks of gestation before abortion is illegal. Except for very liberal states such as New York and California, where abortion might be legal up until right before the baby is born.

On a side note, In the U.S., the abortion rate for women of color is almost four times that of White women. On average, 900 black babies are aborted every day in the U.S. It is interesting that those opposed to systemic racism, (and rightly so) cling to their racism, when it comes to abortion.
