i don’t twitter, but there’s been a lot of chatter about EM buying twitter.
i know little of EM, but his name and various projects are often in news reports.
It might be interesting to witness what unfolds with EM’s purchase of twitter (the reality, not emotional speculation).

Left-of-centre Twitter users have threatened to leave the platform en masse if the Elon Musk takeover goes through.
In an effort to placate the angry crowd, Musk has offered users a free Cybertruck including two free years of charging and a v-neck Tesla-branded t-shirt.
“I really want you to stay,” explaind Musk. “It’s true. I may not offer you a safe platform to share your views, but what I will give you is the world’s ugliest truck, so at least there’s that.”
In order to qualify, users will be asked to Photoshop MAGA hats onto all profile pics from now on. The new policy has created some concerns.
“I’d rather have affordable public transportation than a Cybertruck,” said one user, whose post was quickly removed under Twitter’s new ‘no progressive views’ policy.
Meanwhile, all 11 Mennonite Twitter users rapidly altered their profiles, so as not to pass up the opportunity to get a free truck …
even if it’s a Tesla.

I actually have my doubts about whether Elon is actually going to go through with his purchase of Twitter. I've seen some good arguments suggesting he is likely to have second thoughts and back out.

Who knows... seems like he likes roughing up the market and has been scolded before for doing so.

From my detached pov, this thing strikes me as similar to DJT running for POTUS in 2016.

But what really happend? He was a pretty good president.

From the latest earnings report, Twitter was lying about users and had inflated that number. If Twitter backs out, they have to pay Musk $1 billion. If Musk backs out, he has to pay Twitter $1 billion. He has said he is not buying it for economics. I do not think he will back out. Soon the BB and some others will get unbanned and Twitter will clean up a lot of mess before the time Musk takes over. It is already happening.
I think he will buy it, clean it up, it will stay about the same level it is, Truth Social will raise since it will have Donald Trump. DJT will get reelected and will use Truth as an official platform. Twitter will become less relevant.

The market has priced TWTR at $49, so there’s a few dollars per share of agreement with you.
