The population growth in Ohio (+40ish% since '92?)
and his seeing Amish with AR15s as evidence of their being willing to defend themselves.
I'm wondering if 1- those were really Amish, and 2- the AR is legal for hunting in the area the picture was taken. ..
ok. thank you.
i watched again, did not notice his reference to Ohio, but, he referred to Lancaster County numerous times? (i could have missed it.)
the idea of the Amish using firearms in self-defense was peculiar. i guessed he presumed this use, without actually knowing. today, lots of people presume murder is the only use for any sort of firearm.
you could be right. maybe he presumed Amish and was mistaken. mistaken identity happens, too.
none of us knows what’s ahead as far as crises and disasters, man-made, and/or natural.
every year of my life, different disasters occur, in the U.S., and abroad. flooding is at or near the top. tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, landslides, droughts, wildfires, etc. famine.
medical scientists say we’re overdue for another worldwide pandemic. meteor actvity and sunspots are ongoing. “what-if” sunspots or other caused a 5-year power outage? i suppose it could happen.
i agree with him regarding the vulnerability of urban areas.
so many people dependent on “the system” of food and energy to keep supplying them on a daily basis. as happened in crowded European cities during the Black Plague, populations were “thinned out,” when the Plague passed, those surviving eventually prospered, leading to the Renaissance.
in the Cold War days, some built bomb shelters, thankfully, not used.
he’s selling dry food with a shelf life of 25 years.
i’m not against preparing for disasters. i suggest to my family to keep several gallons of bottled water on hand. it’s not expensive, and water is a necessity of life. so, even for temporary power outages, or bad storms, water is needed. having some to give to others is a good idea, too.
keep water in your car.
thing is, tho. in many disasters, separation from supplies could easily happen.
really. there is just no guarantee.
