Actually, some decisions are made without those briefing books and you should know that. Also, not every action involves the president. Some are left with specific cabinet members or CIA actions.
We obviously have analysts on hand for the president for these choices but there are other countries outside of the US. I didn’t assume it was the US, I think British ships were actually in the area when it was blown.

I do actually have first-hand experience with both legislative briefings in Congress and at the White House. And I have helped put together Secretarial briefing books on far less significant environmental policy issues than those related to national security. And I know how comprehensive and detailed those were.

i’m with Mike Lee, P.7, being troubled i can’t just trust the U.S. is above board and innocent. That’s sad.

And, believing this way, does NOT suggest i’m supporting or making excuses for Russia!
Jumping to such accusations/conclusions gets tiresome.

No country, Russia, USA, England, Germany and so on has ever been above the board and innocent.
They never have been, but our own patriotic propaganda is before us painting other countries as worse.

Appeal for UN Investigation

Before the Swedish statements, Putin on Wednesday told a ceremony for 17 foreign ambassadors including Denmark’s Jakob Henningsen, “today, the Baltic Sea is literally rough. First, I will mention the acts of sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in September 2022”.

“Mr Ambassador, we hope Denmark will support our proposals to establish an independent international commission to investigate all the circumstances of these incidents”, Putin said at the event at the Kremlin, according to a presidential transcript.

The United Nations Security Council on March 27 rejected Russia’s request for a probe into the incidents
with only China, Brazil and Russia voting in favor. The council’s monthly rotating presidency is now occupied by Moscow.
