SUBJECT: Additional Arrest made in Sasha Krause Homicide Investigation

Glendale, AZ – On 05/03/20 Detectives with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Agents from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) and with the Assistance of the Office Of Alcohol , Tobacco and Firearms arrested Samuel David Gooch after he was contacted in Surprise, AZ.

The arrest stemmed from an incident in which Samuel Gooch made arrangements via a telephone call to take possession of a firearm which Mark Gooch had given to a 3rd party. Samuel flew from Wisconsin to Phoenix with another family member for this meeting. Detectives, working with AFOSI Agents, facilitated the meeting in which Samuel took possession of the firearm he believed to be the one belonging to Mark.

Samuel was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff Office 4th Ave Jail for Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree and Attempting to Tamper with Physical Evidence in the ongoing investigation of the murder of Sasha KRAUSE. The other family member was released without charges at this time.

Following the arrest of Mark Gooch, Detectives had collected the firearm connected to him which was being stored at an unrelated residence in the Phoenix area.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

If he is looking to get ahold of the gun, he must have known something, maybe after the fact. My suspicion is that the Air Force Investigative people got a wiretap authorization on his phone. It is sad that the circle seems to be widening.

If he was wiling to engage in a conspiracy to hide evidence, that is a crime. Even if it is after the crime took place.

These guys are pros. Not like the keystone cops that asked someone for evidence, without a warrant.

Sometimes life has surprises. The irony of things like this make me wish I knew more about what is happening in the spiritual world as well as more about the mind of God.

To what lengths would you be willing to go in order to attempt to save the life of a family member? I don't defend Samuel's conduct, but is there a chance this was the result of a desperate attempt to help [a close relative] avoid the death sentence? There must be a background that would help to make more sense out of this setup. I would certainly hope so, although I'm not sure what purpose was served by creating a setup to entice this person to try to interfere with the investigation. Maybe just to keep him out of mischief?
