I think parents shouldn't feed their children unhealthy food and park them in front of screens instead of wholesome exercise and outdoor activity, which results in childhood obesity, and then watch their children eventually die of easily preventable diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease.

However, parents have a right to try to do what is best for their children.
And who think what the Menno parents in Texas did, watching their children die, is tantamount to child murder. The children are dead due to the decisions of their parents.
No, they aren't. Children die of diseases sometimes. The parents did not do anything to kill their children.
We live in a society that preferences parental and family rights whether or not you agree. They are not YOUR children so you don’t get to decide.
We live in a society that doesn't permit parents to mutilate their children's bodies. I think that's a good thing.

I hope you can understand the difference between:

- Parents choosing not to do something (such as inject something into their child's body), versus:

- Parents choosing to do something such as mutilate their child's body or administer an unnecessary drug to them.

There is no reason - ever - to try to change a normal, healthy boy or girl into the opposite sex.

If you let your children play on the freeway and they get run over by a truck, they are still dead, even if it wasn’t you driving. And you were negligent in their death. Choosing not to protect your children from deadly diseases circulating in the environment is no different from choosing not to protect them from deadly traffic in the environment.

I’m not sure why this obsession with “mutilation”. Only a tiny fraction of transgender youth undergo cosmetic surgery. The number is between 0.02% and 0.05%. Or between 2 and 5 out of 100,000 transgender youth between ages of 15 and 17. And about 80% of those are breast reduction surgery, which is far more commonly done on non-trans teens for simply cosmetic purposes. Are all those parents who allow their non-trans teens get breast reduction surgery for cosmetic reasons also “mutilating” them? https://hsph.harvard.edu/news/gender-af ... c%20Health

There are no medications or medical procedures used voluntarily by trans youth that are not much more commonly used by non-trans youth for a vast number of medical and cosmetic reasons.

Bottom line? You either believe in parental rights or you do not. I happen to believe in parental rights even if I disagree with some of the parental choices that result. That is part of what it means to live in a free society with limited government.

False.
To repeat, no legal rights are absolute, courts prove it.

Lazy thinking is great for social media, dominating, bullying talking points; it’s empty and overall disappointing, it shouldn’t be a goal of higher ed.

Allowing one’s children to play on a busy street is an affirmative choice. It is not the same thing as simply declining a popular medical treatment.
And you were negligent in their death. Choosing not to protect your children from deadly diseases circulating in the environment is no different from choosing not to protect them from deadly traffic in the environment.
Not vaccinating is not the same thing as “choosing not to protect your children from deadly diseases”. There are a variety of ways to try to improve your children’s health and avoid bad diseases. Vaccines may or may not be one of them.

There is no negligence whatsoever in choosing not to vaccinate one’s children, just as there is no negligence whatsoever in letting your kid eat a McNuggets happy meal, or choosing not to buy expensive, organic food for your kid.

Children do not need to change their sex, so surgeries that do that are simply mutilation. Parents should not mutilate their children. In particular, parents should not be performing elective mastectomies on children. The only reason to get a mastectomy is for something like cancer.
Are all those parents who allow their non-trans teens get breast reduction surgery for cosmetic reasons also “mutilating” them? https://hsph.harvard.edu/news/gender-af ... c%20Health
If there is a valid medical reason for a breast reduction, that’s entirely different from an elective mastectomy.
There are no medications or medical procedures used voluntarily by trans youth that are not much more commonly used by non-trans youth for a vast number of medical and cosmetic reasons.
Ken, nobody is getting elective mastectomies for their kids under 18 for any other reason than juvenile cancer (which is extremely rare). I think you are being obtuse to call a mastectomy a “breast reduction”.

One of the characteristics of living in mature, free and democratic society is the ability to live with people whose opinions differ from yours. That is what a free society is and the founding principle of our Constitution. By contrast, the characteristic of an authoritarian mind is the inability to do so. Whether one is on the left or the right.

I trust parents and young people to make their own decisions for themselves and their families. Even when I disagree with their choices. You, apparently, do not. And neither do many lefty types who are equally hypocritical in the other direction.

It’s not incumbant on taxpayers (or insurance companies) to fund, promote, protect ELECTIVE/COSMETIC procedures.
Legal or illegal, moral or immoral.

Ever.

This has become a central obfuscation, even weaponized, by ignorant or evil “do-gooders”. Deceit. Force. Bullying.
Widening the circle to include children and legal minors is evil.

The driving force is corporate profits, not maturity or charity. “Open your eyes.”

The BIG PROFIT factor, creating lifelong dependency on (pharma) was described in detail early on in this topic.
BIG BUSINESS. On the backs of innocents.

Riley Gaines, swimmer, dedicated her time to correcting this problem.

Trans swimmer Lia Thomas stripped of titles after university caves to Trump administration / 3:30min
Description:
“Transgender swimming champion Lia Thomas will be stripped of all her swimming titles by the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).

On Tuesday, it was announced that UPenn will strip Thomas and apologise to all biological female competitors who lost to Thomas.

UPenn’s decision to cave to the Trump administration follows an investigation by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

OCR’s investigation found UPenn violated Title IX by “allowing a male to compete in female athletic programs and occupy female-only intimate facilities”.

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announced UPenn’s decision to strip Thomas of her titles and apologise to the competitors in a statement.

“Today’s resolution agreement with UPenn is yet another example of the Trump effect in action,” McMahon said.

“Thanks to the leadership of President Trump, UPenn has agreed both to apologise for its past Title IX violations and to ensure that women’s sports are protected at the University for future generations of female athletes.” “

2025 / Genspect / The Detransitioner Lawsuits That Are EXPOSING WPATH | Josh Payne / 20min
Attorney Josh Payne explains why the recent Supreme Court decision has changed the entire legal landscape around paediatric gender medicine. He describes what lawyers have uncovered inside WPATH, why key claims about medical transition could not be supported in court, and how these discoveries are reshaping national policy.

Josh reveals what is emerging from lawsuits across the United States, including evidence from depositions, changes in clinical practice, and the early impact of federal investigations. He also gives an update on the Chloe Cole case and outlines what these developments might mean for families and policymakers in the coming years.

Josh Payne is an attorney and co founding partner of Campbell Miller Payne, a law firm representing clients harmed by gender affirming care, particularly minors. He is admitted to practise before the United States Supreme Court and several federal appellate courts, and has led multiple landmark cases in this developing legal field.

It is subjects such as this, Gender confusion, when we can say, "Oh ya, this is the sort of garbage that people rejected the left in the election."
It is a blessing to have a government in power that is reigning in this type of decay.
