Sorry you took it this way. Not intended.
By “the day of reckoning” in this case, i meant, elections. i meant ignoring polls, stats, like mike added above.
The handwriting was on the wall. There was stubborn prideful refusal of libs to listen to opposing views. In world history, every culture, this leads to some kind of opposition.

i don’t think anyone would be able to make a case that i’ve promoted violence in my lifetime.
My father used to worry i might not defend myself if needed, he may have been right; probably worried i’d become a vegetarian.
i was sorry osama bin laden was executed. i cringe to swat a fly. i value life. i believe i’m consistent in that.
Thanks for clarifying what you meant.

Your comment about “powerful politically organized minorities dominating majorities” made me think about Reconstruction. After the Civil War, Black Americans in the South were briefly able to vote and hold office. White Southerners saw this as an attack on democracy rather than an expansion of it, and their “day of reckoning” came in the form of Jim Crow laws and violent suppression. So when you talk about a reckoning, I think it’s important to ask—what exactly are you advocating for? If a group gains rights, is that domination? And is democracy only valid when the majority gets its way 100% of the time?
i agree, it’s mportant to ask, rather than jump to conclusions, accusations, etc.
For me, it’s a figure of speech, used often, referring to consequences, not a threat.

Your response got me to look it up, it has many uses, including scriptural, it’s been used in books and movies. i wasn’t going for high drama. i don’t think there’s anything in my years of posting that would suggest i would threaten, use or suggest violence. That puzzles me. Others above seemed to understand my intent. After all these years i would like to think you were a bit more acquainted with my general philosophy. Not that we would always agree! But at least be beyond the basics.

I would think the most powerful politically organized minority is white males. They do dominate majorities and fear that day of reckoning. Isn't that part of what the MAGA movement is about?
i don’t see white males as a politically organized minority, at all. very unorganized. (not to be insulting.)
i prefer the unorganized. messy, but better. i don’t agree with dominance and fear as you describe it.
i don’t know or care what MAGA is about. haven’t thought much about it. i don’t click on reports about it.
i don’t click on reports on the Royal family, kardashians, taylor swift, either. i don’t want those algorithms. :P

What percentage of the Republican Congressional delegation is composed of white men? The answer is about 90%.

They seem pretty organized and powerful to me except when they try to elect a new speaker.

They are all elected separately. Dems just elected two new examples. i wouldn’t conclude it was an organized result.
i wouldn’t have voted for either.

Even the RNC speaker kerfluffle (to me) pointed to lack of organization, which i find preferable. It’s not slick, it’s real.

For some reason, or many reasons, people generally prefer male leaders. i don’t see it as a conspiracy or shortfall.

I appreciate that you clarified that you didn't mean it as a threat and I understand that's not what you meant. I also think words matter. When you frame minority rights as "domination" and talk about a "reckoning," that carries historical weight—whether you intend it that way or not. I found your use of these phrases concerning, especially at a moment when a lot of queer and trans people are afraid for their lives. If your meaning was different, maybe that’s something to reflect on rather than expecting others to just know what you meant.

NEW JERSEY

NEW YORK POST
“Common sense prevails in New Jersey as school districts allowed to drop trans student policy after years-long fight”
Opinion by Kirsten Fleming
https://nypost.com/2025/02/14/opinion/n ... nt-policy/
.. “If we had known it was non-mandatory we never would have amended it,” Tobacco said.
“We were held hostage for 18 months being mandated to keep the policy in place while over 30 districts in the state were simply repealing it,”

A lot has shifted culturally in two years – in regard to transgender minors.
Countries like England and Norway pumped the brakes on giving puberty blockers to youths with gender dysphoria.
And President Trump has signed an executive order to halt medical intervention for gender transitions in anyone under 19.

The changes were evident in Middletown.
When they voted on their amended policy in 2023, the meeting was filled with over 300 people, including trans activists — some of whom stood outside screaming and banging on the windows to prevent it from passing. ..

I think that what the lawless one did was more legal than this quote implies. I don't think he ordered the halt of medical interventions for gender transitions in anyone under 19, but that the Federal government will not fund or assist such actions. I don't know if he has the authority for this either, but if it were legal, I would support this.

Virginia Mercury / Va. school board to pay $575K to fired teacher who refused to use transgender student’s pronouns
https://virginiamercury.com/2024/09/30/ ... -pronouns/
.. “Peter wasn’t fired for something he said; he was fired for something he couldn’t say.
The school board violated his First Amendment rights under the Virginia Constitution and commonwealth law,” said Tyson Langhofer, senior counsel for ADF and director of the ADF Center for Academic Freedom, in a statement.

Langhofer said Vlaming felt using male pronouns to address the student were “untrue,” even though the student had recently undergone a gender transition and legal name change. ADF said that for Vlaming to use the preferred pronouns went against his religious beliefs and violated his right to free speech.

According to ADF, the board cleared Vlaming’s firing record and changed its policies to conform to the new policies overhauled by Gov. Glenn Youngkin. West Point School Board did not immediately respond to The Mercury’s request for comment. ..
.. In September 2022, Youngkin’s administration overhauled the state’s 2021 model school policies for transgender and nonbinary students designed under former Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam.

Most notably, the list of changes included requiring parental approval for any changes to students’ “names, nicknames, and/or pronouns,” a directive to schools to keep parents “informed about their children’s well-being,” and requiring that student participation in activities and athletics be based on sex and the use of bathrooms correspond to a students’ sex, except to the extent that federal law requires.

ADF and Vlaming said they are pleased that the case has been settled.

“I was wrongfully fired from my teaching job because my religious beliefs put me on a collision course with school administrators who mandated that teachers ascribe to only one perspective on gender identity — their preferred view,” Vlaming said in a statement.

Fox News / 'Seismic implications' for fired teacher who won lawsuit after refusing to use students' pronouns: Attorney
https://www.foxnews.com/media/seismic-i ... s-attorney
.. "Peter’s Christian faith prevented him from lying to his students about biological reality by using pronouns inconsistent with a student’s sex," ADF attorney Waggoner told Fox News Digital. "Since his victory in court, we have seen overwhelming gratitude and support on social media from people who, like Peter, teach or work in places that might punish them for living according to their beliefs." ..
Now we have a guy getting fired for insisting on using pronouns, after the government banned it.

Zamora announced his refusal to comply in a letter penned to his supervisors, which read in part: “I recognize that my employer has the right to dictate the manner in which I address the public. I also recognize that in the grand scheme of things, the layout of an email signature block is a fairly innocuous and inconsequential piece of our daily duties.

“However … it is clear that this latest directive is part of a broader effort to wipe out the acknowledgement of non-binary, intersex and transgender persons throughout Texas as well as sending the societal message that these individuals are not accepted in this state.”

After sending the letter, Zamora said he was “ultimately given the choice between removing the pronouns, resigning or being terminated”.

He chose to keep the pronouns and refused to resign. He was then fired in the first week of February.

When asked about the response from Abbott and Musk, Zamora said: “I don’t really have a response to that. They are doing what they must to appease the groups that have kept them in power. That would be my only comment on the subject.”

We had a young man who left working at our store and began working at the Christian day care across the street. He comes in as a customer &!I noticed he was getting prettier. He told me they fired him at the daycare as he is trans. He thought that was mean. I tried to explain why but he says he follows the Bible. Come to find out his sister is transitioning to a male!

Why is there more & more of this.

Why don’t Anabaptists seem to be having this issue (well for that matter I don’t know Christians that are actually).
