I think this is a deeply concerning comment. Are you saying that minorities are not allowed to exist in the same space as the majority? Is the only choice between which group gets to dominate? What is this day of reckoning? To me it sounds like you're making a threat and it sounds violent.
t1 said nothing violent.

Ya? Welcome to what some of us conservative Christians have been hearing. It is deeply concerning to us when our beliefs are under attack by the powerful.

Consistent ramrodding by liberals is what drove Trump into power. And he uses language such as “reckoning” and “retribution”. Somehow liberals understand this cause and effect when it comes to Israel/Gaza. But not in the US.

Sorry you took it this way. Not intended.
By “the day of reckoning” in this case, i meant, elections. i meant ignoring polls, stats, like mike added above.
The handwriting was on the wall. There was stubborn prideful refusal of libs to listen to opposing views. In world history, every culture, this leads to some kind of opposition.

i don’t think anyone would be able to make a case that i’ve promoted violence in my lifetime.
My father used to worry i might not defend myself if needed, he may have been right; probably worried i’d become a vegetarian.
i was sorry osama bin laden was executed. i cringe to swat a fly. i value life. i believe i’m consistent in that.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Oh please. I personally don’t think trans athletes belong in competitive women’s and girls sports. Recreational sports are a different issue.

But any rational examination of this topic suggests that it is pretty trivial. At the HS level there are about 6 million HS athletes competing competitively in any given year. Out of that surveys can only identify tiny numbers (in the dozens at most) of trans individuals competing and the majority are actually F to M trans athletes who strangely aren’t covered by Trump’s EO. At the college level it is also a very tiny number of at best a couple dozen out of 600,000 or so competitive college athletes. And again, the majority are F to M so not covered either.

This is what we are calling “domination?”

I have 3 daughters and it has been my observation that many of the conservatives who are campaigning to “protect women’s sports” are complete hypocrites because they have no problem at all trying to tear down Title IX which is actually the law that protects women’s sports and ensures equality between men and women’s sports in this country. And diminishing women’s sports generally. If you are trying to tear down Title IX or have no problem with HS and universities who dump hugely more money into men’s football and basketball compared to women’s sports then you really don’t care about protecting women’s sports. And your concern about trans athletes is probably motivated by something other than protecting opportunities for girls and women.

This wasn’t intended to be wrt sports, alone. i presume many are tired of the numbers of times i’ve repeated similar about whatever political drama arises, i apologize for repetition.

This is your personal speculation/projection and nothing more. Noted, and not deserving of response.

It is more useful if you actually quote people in context. What I actually wrote was the following. Note the "you" is rhetorical and not directed at anyone here specifically:

rereading your post, i’m wondering if you’ve read anything from me in 10 years? :?
i’m literally not sure if i could deal with existing in a homogenous group (example, as i imagine happens in Japan and other cultures).
i believe my forum input reflects a wide variation of interests and peoples and experiences, of every description.

i’m not sure who you’ve decided i am. i think you’re mistaken.

Hopefully the confusion is not about gender.

Thanks for clarifying what you meant.

Your comment about “powerful politically organized minorities dominating majorities” made me think about Reconstruction. After the Civil War, Black Americans in the South were briefly able to vote and hold office. White Southerners saw this as an attack on democracy rather than an expansion of it, and their “day of reckoning” came in the form of Jim Crow laws and violent suppression. So when you talk about a reckoning, I think it’s important to ask—what exactly are you advocating for? If a group gains rights, is that domination? And is democracy only valid when the majority gets its way 100% of the time?

I would think the most powerful politically organized minority is white males. They do dominate majorities and fear that day of reckoning. Isn't that part of what the MAGA movement is about?
