You're not making a very good case for your argument. The flu shot doesn't work very well less than 50% of people choose to get it. Is that what you want for your precious COVID vax?Ken wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 8:46 pmSorry to burst your bubble of glee. But if you scroll down in the very CDC page that you linked to above you will find the following:
WHY DO I NEED A FLU VACCINE EVERY YEAR?
A flu vaccine is needed every year for two reasons. First, a person’s immune protection from vaccination declines over time, so an annual flu vaccine is needed for optimal protection. Second, because flu viruses are constantly changing, the composition of flu vaccines is reviewed annually and vaccines are updated to protect against the viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming flu season. For the best protection, everyone 6 months and older should get vaccinated annually.

The discussion was whether other vaccines fade in effectiveness over time and require boosters. They clearly do.nett wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 10:28 pmYou're not making a very good case for your argument. The flu shot doesn't work very well less than 50% of people choose to get it. I honestly don't care whether you get the vaccine or not. That's your problem. I'm just pushing back on your misinformation and claims that the vaccines have no value. They clearly do. They are BY FAR the best single thing that you or anyone else can do to prevent getting severely sick or dying of Covid. Not hydroxychloroquine, not ivermectin, not zinc. The free vaccine you can get any pretty much any pharmacy.

Re: Ivermectin
One thing I know ivermectin is good for is lice treatment. We had lice problems with two of our daughters a few years back, and nothing we tried worked. Finally our doctor prescribed Sklice, a topical medicated lotion. It cost a couple of hundred dollars for a single dose. We split it between the two girls and it worked. We since learned that the active ingredient is ivermectin, and that you can mix ivermectin (which you can buy at a pet supply store) into shampoo at the right ratio for the same effect. You can bet that's what we'll do if it ever happens again.

No, you don't get a flu vaccine booster. you get a vaccine targeted at a different strain, and again. FLU VACCINES DO NOT WORK VERY WELL.Ken wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 10:49 pmThe discussion was whether other vaccines fade in effectiveness over time and require boosters. The best thing you can do for your neighbor is contract COVID, and recover. It's far more effective than the vaccine.

Re: Ivermectin
There is no such thing as a flu vaccine “booster”.
You get it once per season and each season it’s a new, different vaccine.
Most other vaccines never require boosters. The only one they does is pertussis.

Re: Ivermectin
Nope
Conclusions
Review of >11 billion person-years of incidence data revealed no benefit associated with performing adult booster vaccinations against tetanus or diphtheria. Similar to other vaccines, this analysis supports the WHO position on adult booster vaccination and, if approved by governing health authorities, this may allow more countries to focus healthcare resources on vulnerable and undervaccinated populations.

Re: Ivermectin
Every 10 years in the US, and in the UK / Australia they don’t do boosters like this. (Australia recommends boosters once you hit age 50 or 65.)
That’s very different than Pfizer which is calling for boosters every several months - reports vary from 5 to 6 months.
