That was a wise move. I'd be quicker to believe and comply with law enforcement than the family.
What bugged me was anonymous person, with an extremely thin profile here, showing up claiming to be a spokesman for whoever wanted it taken down, with zero corroboration.

Sorry for the misquote. Actually I just subscribed so I should have remembered. Maybe my age is catching up with me.

Yes, that is what bugged me also. I mean anyone can claim anything. We still don’t know what his connection is, I will assume one of the mods does.

I can't imagine why you two are so bugged about something do obvious (it seems).

Only Mennonet could have 7 pages why a thread was removed. The reason given was obvious wisdom, enough to be at peace with & not be so suspicious, & let moderators do their volunteer jobs?

I've repeatedly stated that I have no problem with the actions of the moderator. I think Robert operated out of an abundance of caution mindset and I have zero criticism of his actions. I don't even care that the thread was removed.

I believe some questions to the anonymous person representing themselves as a spokesperson for the family/LE were in order. I wish people were a little slower to disparage those who pick up on irregularities and ask for them to be explained.

It's my opinion, the irregular situation of this grievous news, may call for irregular requests for to the nature of the (possible) crime as yo not be hindering their progress- that's why I don't understand how that part isn't more readily received- all links are available because of her name- that's the internet, do they needed to make the request to whomever could hurt the investigation, even in innocence

The irregularity of the request was a choice made by the person making the request, and was not material to the request. That choice may not have been made consciously, but nevertheless, it was made.

I am saying, it would have been just as easy to make the request without irregularity as it was to make with irregularity.

It would have been super simple to corroborate the authority by which they spoke. Their unwillingness to do so, made it even more irregular.

BTW, I’m enjoying this exchange of ideas. Don’t take anything more out of my persistence than that.

After knowing you for for many a year, I know you have good intentions and felt it was important to question. Let me lay out a few things.

1. A new user would post openly. One who has been around for a while would know they could PM a Mod and get this taken care of. Thus the open post.

2. A lost person is not as much an issue as a missing person of there is an active investigation because it appears someone committed a crime. The Police like to control the information so if there is someone who knows something that has not been released, it helps them identify involvement. I knew this when the request was made. This was a big factor in archiving the thread. If someone did cause the situation, I want them stopped.

3. Asking the questions were not an issue. I did like the fact that you repeated that you did trust our actions. As followers of Jesus, we should be people pleasers as much as possible. When we do have to do something that might feel abrasive to some, it helps to have kind words along with the questions.

4. If you would have bothered me too much, I would have told you to shut up, go fishing, and cook it on the grill, then invite me over to eat. 8-)

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.
