I have interpreted this to mean that a "civilisation" that seems to be entirely based around running a mafia-like entity that has its stated goal to exterminate the state of Israel (based on some mission from God), develop nuclear weapons, missiles, and drones, and brutally suppresses any dissent.

Eventually, other civilisations aren't going to like such a civilisation and will get rid of. Iran decided to spend last night raining down destruction on Saudi Arabia.

^^hmm. something must be happening today. i haven’t viewed any sort of news. yet.

i haven’t followed this thread.
as with Ukraine - i pray for RESOLUTION, i.e., end to all acute war/fighting/military intervention.

- - - - - - -

My question wrt Iran:
Have i lost my mind? -
Am i seeing pictures of beautiful young Iranian women dressed in provocative, scanty, vulgar clothes,
boasted as evidence “the West is winning”? :-| What??

(Similar questions came up wrt Ukraine, specifically including Zelensky.)

Is flamboyant carnal nature now the standard-bearer for the “free” West?
Evidently, the august western press believes so. :-|

Talk about ditches on both sides of the road.

Sounds a lot like the US, except that the stated goal is extermination of Iran rather than Israel, and the suppression of dissent is not quite as brutal. Yet.

Eventually, other civilizations aren't going to like the US and will get rid of US. Deciding to spend tonight raining down destruction on Iran is likely to hasten that day.

I believe that he means wiping out the Iranian government, not Iranian civilization. Seems like it would benefit the President to clearly say that. To say that the US is going to wipe out a civilization is really something. We should be praying for peace today, and for the success of negotiations.

I don't even see how that's possible. Even with two atom bombs, the U.S. didn't wipe out Japanese civilisation. Not to mention Persians have a large diaspora.

It is interesting to think that past Presidents didn't reveal their thoughts since they were carefully stage managed by P.R. people and so forth...

It’s been en vogue to belittle and criticize the U.S. for 50-60 years i’m aware, maybe longer. That includes many in the U.S.
For some, it seems like a fav lifetime hobby. Like golf.

In my view, the U.S. is young, maybe in adolescence? i’m not sure which stage. Finding itself.
Preoccupation with “being liked” is a common experience of youth.

Not all survive adolescence. Time will tell.

In time, it will be God’s will.

That require other civilisations to first:

- Decide to be more powerful first, which is harder than it sounds. I have been very surprised to learn just how weak Russia is, which can't defend its territory any more against the Ukrainians destroying things like oil & gas facilities left and right.

- Avoid the kind of endemic corruption like happened in Syria with Assad that leads them to being weak and powerless.

- Not have a large fraction of their people so in enamoured with live in America that they will do absolutely anything to get a visa to the U.S. and move here.

Of course, the U.S. could allow the first two things above to happen too...

This is in line with T’s overall words, includng recently.
He has been shockingly effective against stated targets, keeping bloodshed to a minimum, compared to all history.

i’m still internalizing it, it’s so different. i don’t know what to think, i suspect i’m in the majority.

Except, prayers for resolution and peace contnue.

Exactly. It's clear that is not what he meant. Regardless, the threat seems like a potential large-scale loss of life of some kind. I think it is most likely a wildly overstated threat that may result in the destruction of a large amount of heretofore untouched dual-use infrastructure such as railways, bridges, roads, power plants, and so forth, that supports both Iran's military and civilian population. But still, it is very stunning language.

Many long to return to this. It’s so much “easier” and “normal”.

Unfortunately, too many, including many elected “leaders” are like fish out of water. Not a pretty sight.
They didn’t sign up for thinking or anything like it. “Public servants?!” - you-must-be-joking.

They just wanted lucrative careers with limited hours, premium benefits and luxury retirements.
That’s The System they set up!
