We’ve talked about this before. This is far-right Great Replacement conspiracy theory nonsense.JohnH wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 11:23 amAlright. The progressive left disingenuously tries to stir up as much migration of people as they can out of some cynical type of believe that doing so will improve their political (and eventually, voting) base. No matter what the situation is, the answer is always "more migration". There is an unholy alliance between that and the wealthy elite, including nominal "big business" type of conservatives, who like access to an easily-exploitable labour pool willing to work below minimum wage and willing to work in unsafe working conditions. (In short, migration often causes a type of "economic growth", but one that comes at the expense of the poor and the middle class.)
This type of thinking is so ingrained that all the left can think about when something like a war happens is "Well, this means a lot more refugees going to Europe!", as if Iran shares a border or is anywhere even close to Europe, and that it is remotely reasonable to think Europe should accept more refugees because of... Iran being invaded by Israel and America, and Europe mostly opposing this action?

A more moderate observation goes something like this...
Wars create refugees. Refugees look at their options and go for what appears best for their future. Countries who permit refugees and offer them assistance are often a preferred destination.
Observing this and making predictions accordingly does not say anything about one's political leanings or even one's preference for where refugees should go. It is just stating the obvious.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

It should also be obvious it is a common good when conditions do not deteriorate to the point people feel compelled to migrate. For example not causing a war which will push many people to migrate.Ernie wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 12:07 pm A more moderate observation goes something like this...

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Is it?
The demographics of places like the UK have changed quite a bit. Is that 'conspiracy theory nonsense' too?

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
It absolutely is. Demographic change isn’t the same thing as a coordinated plan to engineer it.
It’s up to you if you want to peddle white supremacist neo-Nazi propaganda but I will keep pointing out the origins of this nonsense.

So, you’re saying that there hasn’t been a concerted effort to try to increase levels of immigration, refugee admissions, and so forth, and then to prevent remigration of supposed temporary immigrants?

I’m going to point out the obvious: policy debates about immigration aren’t evidence of a coordinated conspiracy to replace white people with immigrants.JohnH wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 2:02 pmSo, you’re saying that there hasn’t been a concerted effort to try to increase levels of immigration, refugee admissions, and so forth, and then to prevent remigration of supposed temporary immigrants?
For your claim to be credible, you would need solid evidence of a coordinated plan to shift demographics of European countries and the US. Proof of who’s involved. Evidence of an actual plan. Where’s the documentation? The whistle blowers?
The problem with conspiracy theories is that the more people who are in on the conspiracy, the harder it’s to keep hidden. A massive multi-nation conspiracy to change the demographics of countries would leave clear evidence somewhere.
But all I hear whenever anyone brings this up are broad generalizations and vague insinuations.
There are lots of reasons for immigration and demographic shifts. Trends are not evidence of a coordinated conspiracy.

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Why did you bring up “white people”?
The demographic problems I have observed are massive amounts of young, single men. Refugees should be women and families, not young men. These are the shifts that cause serious problems.

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Where’s the evidence that these demographic shifts are the result of coordinated conspiracy?
Young, single male immigrants are a pattern. They are not evidence of a conspiracy. Young men are often the ones who make the dangerous journey first and then try to bring family after they establish themselves.
One of the characteristics of all conspiracy theories — whether it’s Stanley Kubrick faked the moon landing or that the world is secretly run by subterranean lizard people — is that they rely on making insinuations based on patterns. On the one hand, that’s a normal human thing to do — we are creatures who use patterns to make meaning. That’s why conspiracy theories have power.
But just because someone has connected a pattern doesn’t make it true. There could be lots of other reasons why immigration and demographic shifts happen.
You need some actual evidence of a conspiracy, John. Otherwise, you’re just in David Icke territory.
