Mendocino, CA is $9.99 for premium or diesel ($9.79 for regular).
That is nuts.
It might be the mercy of God lest Americans get drunk on their own power and wealth. This might be a mechanism God is using to apply a little pain to prevent further war lust.
Considering fuel is $3.44 at Costco where I am, God’s mercy might be confined to just one Exxon station on the California coast.

At this point you should just drag a bowser behind you and fill it up at the Buc-ee’s on I-70.

Wife: rereading this thread makes me feel a little better. I’ve been feeling grouchy paying $3.70 something a gallon and now I can manage to get it under $3.50, and diesel is under $5 a gallon. Where we used to live in the northwest is an entire dollar plus more expensive for both gas and diesel

Wow that's cheap compared to my part of PA... it's over $4, approaching $4:30 sometimes... one day it dips a bit but then it's back up, but always over $4...

A Confessing Church would acknowledge the inescapable realities of sin and injustice in every human institution, including every political party. It would wholeheartedly reject any suggestion that one party or movement is the party of God. Paul D Miller

In a blow to OPEC and a win for the US, the UAE has left OPEC. This allows them to set their own quotas, pump more oil, potentially driving down the global price of oil. Most importantly it weakens the power of OPEC to control the oil market.

We had been holding to 3.83/gallon for a few weeks but saw today it went to 4.19/gallon overnight. This is Eastern Shore MD.
Diesel is about 6/gallon.

Last week was a case study in regional variation. I went with a work group to our church camp in Kentucky. On the way there on Monday, everything was right around $3.99. As we left Friday to come home, it was $4.19 but kept escalating as we drove farther north until it reached $4.99.

The GasBuddy Heat Map shows the general pattern; currently a little high in the Great Lakes states and exorbitant on the west coast.

Diesel is about 6/gallon.
Almost every gas station we passed Sunday in NE Ohio was $4.99 regular unleaded. We paid $4.39 at Sam’s Club (we belong to Sam’s Club & Costco).
I usually don’t mind filling up as a hybrid helps but now I really think about extra driving whether it’s necessary. Probably for air quality I should always think that way.
