Gender confusion

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Does anybody have any cases where "trans-men" (women) are agitating to use the men's locker rooms/bathrooms/etc.? I can't find any. I wonder why...

The simple answer is men are not threatened by women trying to be men.
All the stories I have heard ended up with a new rape victim and it wasn’t one of the guys.

Ultimately the reasons a male transitions are generally different then a woman transitioning and the follow on problems generally line up with the underlying fear driving the transition.

Seattle public schools will offer 'gender reaffirming care' to students
Schools in Seattle are currently offering free 'gender affirming care' to students as young as 11, a prominent parental rights organization has found - already enraging parents.

The service, laid bare in documents obtained by Parents Defending Education (PDE) this week, is provided by medical provider Country Doctor Community Health Centers - a facility that already offers hormone therapy for adolescents and sex-change surgeries for those younger.
It would appear that schools indeed are offering sex change medical services, despite all the assurances certain posters on MennoNet made that schools would never do such a thing. In this case the schools conspired to open what is technically a medical facility inside the school so they can offer sex change services.

It’s been happening in Canada for years. If the parents refuse to go along with this stuff then the school initiates the children being taken away from the parents.

And your evidence for this claim is what?

Politifact says it is false. Are they wrong? https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2 ... ren-paren/

We now know that it has been happening in Seattle. No further “fact checks” needed.

Many liberals assured us that schools wouldn’t be pumping kids full of hormone blockers, hormones, nor arranging sex change surgeries. We now see those assurances were hollow.

Schools should not be doing this.

“AT NO COST” - [if-only!]

KOMO / July 11 / “Seattle Public Schools offering 'gender reaffirming care' to students at 'no cost' “
https://komonews.com/news/local/seattle ... -nonbinary

DAILY MAIL / July 12 / “Seattle public schools will offer 'gender affirming care' to students as young as 11 years old at no cost - as critics say it's a 'whole new level of awful for schools to be involved' “
The service, laid bare in documents obtained by Parents Defending Education, is provided by medical provider Country Doctor Community Health Centers
PDE announced the arrangement Tuesday, singling out two health centers offering the services - both of which are set in Seattle public schools
The centers are run by the same nonprofit provider, whose mission 'is to promote health in transgender, non-binary and gender diverse communities'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... -cost.html

(i’m pretty sure) the U.S. lags behind Canada in these various politically organized social engineering EXPERIMENTS.
we’ll see who shows up with further details.

I doubt that "liberals" made any assurances to you of any kind. If you are talking about previous discussions in this threat then I argued that schools are not giving hormones or sex change operations to children as young as 10 behind the backs of parents. Which was your original claim (or something to that effect). I have yet to see any evidence of that happening anywhere.

Transgender medical care is perfectly legal in Washington with parental approval. Just like any other medical care. And every school has a medical office and nurse who administers medications. In fact, that is mostly what school nurses do these days. Track medications for hundreds of students. If a student has a prescription for any medication then the school will administer it if necessary. Probably 10% of the student body at any school has students with medical issues and prescriptions judging from how many medical flags I see in my gradebook. And even I don't know what any of those flags mean unless there is an actual health-related reason for me to know. All I can see is a flag that the child has a medical file. But it is most certainly the case that none of it is actually ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS.

You provided no links to anything here but since you brought this up, perhaps you can tell us:

1. Who can prescribe hormones or hormone blockers to minors in Washington State
2. Who must consent to any prescriptions or administration of hormones or hormone blockers to minors in Washington State

Do you have any evidence that any school clinics are involved in prescribing any medications of any kind? I suspect you do not. I, for one, have never seen any medical staff in any school who had prescribing privileges. They are usually RNs who cannot prescribe medication.

Do you have any information that schools are involved with any sort of medical care at all behind the backs of parents or without the consent of parents? I suspect you do not. I have to sign the paperwork every year so that my HS daughter can carry and use an asthma inhaler at school. Without parental consent forms on file and a letter from her doctor saying it is medically necessary she is not even allowed to have an asthma inhaler on her possession.

Do you have any evidence that schools are doing anything at all against the law? I suspect that you do not.

So what this all amounts to is that:

1. Transgender medical care is perfectly legal in Washington for adults as well as minors with parental consent.

2. Schools are not doing anything illegal or unethical, and are most certainly not involved in transgender medication of any kind behind the backs of parents or without the parent's consent.

3. In a free society, the private medical decisions made by children together with their parents are absolutely none of your business. Just like the private medical or parental decisions you make in your home are no one else's business.

So in other words, Ken, you admit that schools actually are running gender clinics and dispensing hormones and hormone blockers and referring for sex change surgery to 11 year olds?

Did I get that correct?
