I wonder how many of those million deaths are due to suicides, unemployment, and the other consequences of loneliness from people imprisoned in their homes and kicked out of their jobs last year, told they were "unessential" - and people deprived of ever visiting their elderly relatives again.

In fairness...I don't think we knew in early December what we now know a month later.mike wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 11:28 amThis fits with what we have been told from the time Omicron was noted in South Africa. And yet, this did not stop governments from reacting strongly by doing such things as banning air travel to/from South Africa.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Omicron raging through my store's employees but no need for Dr. Visits. Seems like to some its like a cols, to others like flu.
I was sick through the night but seem good now but am on quarantine. Had been yaking a supplement by Dr. Zelenko- so that & prayer appears to have made this just a few hours.

None of them. Those sorts of deaths would be reported differently.Josh wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 11:36 amI wonder how many of those million deaths are due to suicides, unemployment, and the other consequences of loneliness from people imprisoned in their homes and kicked out of their jobs last year, told they were "unessential" - and people deprived of ever visiting their elderly relatives again.
Unemployment rates are at 50 year lows in many states so I doubt that is causing a lot of deaths. And for the brief period in 2020 when unemployment spiked there were generous UI benefits, at least in most states that had competent UI programs. I don't think many are imprisoned in their homes except for perhaps severely immunocompromised folks who can't safely leave their homes because there are so many unvaccinated folks out and about who refuse to take any precautions or steps to help bring the pandemic to an end. How many elderly relatives are you prohibited from ever visiting again? I can see my parents anytime I want and they are in their mid-80s and living in a retirement community.

Everyone is spreading it presently, although those who behave in a less cautious manner are spreading it more.Valerie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 2:21 pmThe vaccinated are spreading it presentlyKen wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 12:08 pmNone of them. Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Can you see this? It is the most relevant chart showing a massive spike in UK omicron infections but with ICU hospitalizations and deaths barely budging. At least so far. You have to read the Y-axis carefully. These are not actual numbers but percentages of their last winter peaks. So every line is on its own scale and a percentage comparison to last winter.

Where is she getting her information? For a Supreme Court Justice to say something so factually incorrect doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the legal system of this country.
