TX FLOODS! 20 kids missing from Christian camp!

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

They’re exhausted and in harm’s way too.
Texas flood death toll rises to 131 as new storms loom

i don’t recall ever seeing such cruelty aimed at victims, first responders, others, as is now happening.
So ugly i won’t add here. Evidently in the name of politics .. in my view, it’s wanton evil.

Their souls are in peril. These folks are more in need of dedicated prayer than the innocents caught up in this disaster.

Social media is putting loss of humanity on display. It’s painful to witness.

i thought the Tesla vandalism revealed a dark side.

i don’t want to believe people can be so cruel. Pray for the Holy Spirit!

Cruelty aimed at victims and first responders?

I have seen no such thing. What examples of this are you referring to? I mean after every disaster there are always randos on the internet saying provocative nonsense for clicks who are always best ignored. But serious people?

Well, her social media post was cruel enough to get her fired, so perhaps she will learn from that and repent of the ugliness and evil.

yes. she’s not the only one.
i’m stunned to see otherwise normal-appearing, well educated, comfortable people behave so badly.
the Tesla damage was an eye opener. whatever caused Elon to put cameras on those cars?! i would have never thought of it.
yet, those cameras recorded (to me) very surprising vandals. then, when caught, lies-lies-lies. so disheartening.

is this the result of gov education?! what else?! people have everything. and nothing.

prayers are needed.

and .. getting such harsh response, prayers for her to endure it - to repent, not to harm herself in shame.

All Teslas have always had cameras. It is part of their self-driving system. And they have always had “sentry mode” which starts recording when movement happens around your car. This is nothing new.

And people have always said dumb and cruel things after natural disasters. I remember after Katrina lots of evangelical ministers like Pat Robertson and Franklin Graham were claiming it was God’s punishment that New Orleans was destroyed. Or more recently, Trump said a lot of ridiculous, wrong, and cruel things about California wildfires. It is par for the course in this country.

It’s become entirely acceptable, normal, and even expected to speak that way in liberal circles.

In some politically conservative circles, I have heard similar rhetoric, although it doesn’t seem nearly as common - and almost never hear it blatantly in public like that.

Oh please.

You hear it all the time blatantly and in public from your president. Just look up what he has said publicly about the California wildfires. Where I would add he is still refusing to release disaster aid for political reasons while rushing it to Texas.

Show us a single Democratic politician who has spoken about Texas the way that the president has spoken about California.
