OK, I was just tasked with teaching Sunday School on Sunday, without a class. Our church has a call-in service, and this week we are apparently going to try do a mini-service. I think it's gonna be weird, the way I teach relies heavily on class participation, I'm kinda lost without that.

We split our church of about 85 into 4 groups and met in homes. It was a wonderful time of connecting on a more personal level. There were several that chose not to participate and we supported them in that and encouraged that for some older folks.
I'm hoping and praying that this shakeup helps us to grow and get more of a vision for true fellowship and worship, in our church and the broader christian community.

Thanks for this list. My own church had technical difficulties and was not able to live stream, but posted the recorded version later (still with some anomalies). So while I waited, I checked out several of these.
... and was disappointed to find no acknowledgment that today is Palm Sunday. Not that there's anything wrong with a sermon on a generic subject, especially if it's a continuation of a series. Or even a sermon related in some way to our response to COVID-19, though I for one am a bit tired of the subject. But if we claim to be Christocentric, shouldn't events in the life of Christ deserve at least a passing mention? Is the triumphal entry of such little significance? If I check out those same churches next week, will they also ignore Easter?

I was glad that our church focused on Palm Sunday today. Sometimes this feels more like listening to a show, but my wife and I listening together and singing along with the songs helped.

Re: What is your church doing for services during the COVID-19 outbreak?
Our pastor's message was title "It is finished" and was a Palm Sunday/Good Friday message. Very seasonal and very appropriate I thought. Only a passing reference to Covid19 which cannot really be avoided due to our unusual meeting format.ohio jones wrote:Thanks for this list. But really it was very well done and very inspirational I thought.
