We're going to protect vaccinated workers from unvaccinated coworkers
Coronavirus Outbreak

Biden's speech tonight had a few real doozies, my personal favorite:

Yes- so much for the vaccine's protection, eh?
Yet he opened up the borders. Who can't see through all this?

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Biden's statement literally makes no sense. If the point of getting the vaccine is to protect you from the virus, then why fear the unvaccinated?
The Biden administration said just a few months ago, that it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations. That sure changed in a short time.
I can barely listen to Biden, but did manage to listen to him yesterday. He seemed very hostile to the millions of unvaccinated people in this country, even more hostile than he has been towards the Taliban.
He projects unvaccinated Americans as a public enemy, while the southern border flows with no vaccination mandate for them. It makes no sense.
And why does it only have to be vaccines? Why not anything about therapeutics or antibodies?
The big question is what’s actually behind this big push? Is it to see how easily they can control the people, bring them under submission to a government?
First it was Federal Government won’t mandate vaccines. Now that changed and they will mandate vaccines for federal workers and for businesses with over 100 employees or either be fired or fined.
Biden suggested that large venues disallow people to enter without proof of vaccine. What is the next step? Disallowing people to enter any public places, stores, restaurants, etc. who aren’t vaccinated? Disallowing people to buy or sell unless they are vaccinated? And beings vaccination cards are so easily forged, let’s just require a chip on a person’s hand or forehead as proof of vaccination. It is true the pandemic is real, but I believe it is being used be people with very evil spirits to push an evil agenda.
One thing Biden’s speech did do, was take the focus off his Afghanistan debacle and his other failures.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Biden a few months ago: “if you get the vaccine you won’t get covid”
Biden yesterday: “we have to protect vaccinated people from unvaccinated people!”
The President just declared that I, and 80 million other Americans, are the enemy.

But if you would be coming across our southern border illegally and unvaccinated, you are NOT the enemy.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
My wife has a patient who needs a bypass surgery that was just postponed. I have an uncle who just had a necessary and somewhat urgent hospital procedure delayed indefinitely. Both are vaccinated, and both are having their health directly affected by the hordes of unvaccinated who are flooding into our local hospitals and pushing hospitals beyond their capacity.
Unvaccinated are affecting our healthcare, our economy, our schools, and everything else. And a growing number of Americans are finding it very tiresome. So yes, it does make sense to talk about protecting the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. Biden's measures actually have very widespread support.

Here's a more recent poll: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixgov/2 ... you-think/A new poll by USA TODAY and Ipsos found that a majority of Americans say protecting the common good is more important than ensuring personal liberty when considering whether to require people to get a Covid-19 vaccination or wear a protective mask.
An overwhelming 72% of those surveyed called mask mandates "a matter of health and safety," not an infringement on personal liberty.
68% supported businesses refusing service to the unvaccinated.
62% supported employers requiring workers to get the vaccination.
Vaccine mandates are more popular than you think. According to a survey conducted by the Covid States Project, 64% of Americans now support mandatory vaccinations for everyone, and 70% support them as a requirement for boarding airplanes. More than 6 in 10 say that vaccinations should be required for K-12 students returning for in-school instruction as well as for college students attending classes at their institutions. And the most recent Economist/YouGov survey found that more than 60% support mandatory vaccinations for frontline workers—prison guards, police officers, teachers, medical providers, and the military—and for members of Congress as well. Solid majorities of every racial and ethnic group support vaccine mandates, as do Americans at all levels of age, income, and education.

How many vaccinated are in the hospitals too? This would be an important dynamic to identify.Ken wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 10:24 am Both are vaccinated, and both are having their health directly affected by the hordes of unvaccinated who are flooding into our local hospitals and pushing hospitals beyond their capacity.

I do think we all need to work together towards healthy living. I think those who do get a vaccine are slightly better off, but those who have had Covid and recovered are even more better off then the vaccinated. I think they need to be identified and validated as helping too.
This would move us away from a them and us mentality to a dynamic effort to improve health. I think vitamins and diet should be added into the equation. I think eating fast food is increasing people's chance to get a severe case of Covid.
Let us work to encourage improved immune systems to combat the virus since the vaccine is showing less and less effective. Promote early treatment and better lifestyle to stop the spread.

Ken, what’s your view on this? Complete totalitarian rule by the 51% majority in a poll?
Would you like to see us sent to death camps, made homeless, what’s your plan?

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Yesterday we had my parents over for dinner and my mother told me about when Belleville PA and all of Big Valley “Menno-land” was quarantined for smallpox when she was a little girl. This would have been sometime in the 1940s. There was a smallpox outbreak in Belleville where a couple of people came down with the disease. The state government sent in state police to completely lock down the valley at every single highway entrance and exit. No one getting in or out without specific permission. All gatherings and church services were canceled even though it was Christmas Eve. All the dairy farmers had to dump their milk or try to sell it locally. Some tried to make butter and cheese and sell that locally. Everyone in the valley including all the Amish got mandatory smallpox vaccine shots. And the complete lockdown lasted for weeks and weeks until they had completed mandatory 100% vaccination. No exemptions of any kind. Everyone in the valley was on mandatory quarantine until everyone got the shot or proved that they had already had it.
That is how we used to deal with public health emergencies in this country. Somehow they managed to get the job done without building concentration camps in central PA. And given the timing it probably happened when we were actually fighting real Nazis and taking down real death camps.
EDIT: It was actually Christmas 1942. I found an old New York Times article about the episode. https://www.nytimes.com/1942/12/25/arch ... e-all.html
