Spoke with my daughter on her way to work, Seattle/King County schools, schools remain open.
She is not for school closing, thinks the children are better off with teachers+hand sanitizers, meals, etc. (gov is raising many children) .. and, expects they will be in school through August if they close now. That’s her view. Her daughter’s church youth group cancelled Monday evening.
Just got an notice from their school. ^^
Their district will have school tomorrow, THURSDAY, then no school Friday - no resume date.
They are estimating 5-6 weeks closed.

Children are instructed to take everything home with them, including texts.
They will attempt to continue instruction somehow, but not online. :?
Colleges near me are closing, putting what they can online.

They will provide lunches for children who depend on them.
Hmm. The children will get back+forth for lunches.

It’s late. If my daughter is asleep, i don’t want to wake her.
If she’s awake and has this news, i doubt she’ll be able to sleep.

i might suggest ordering a home school program, and ditch public schools.
this might be a good opp to try.

we’ll see what tomorrow brings. i.e., later today.
i imagine students will be traumatized. this will be quite a shock for them.

this will put some children at-risk for other problems.
i hope they all do ok.

I expect this will escalate things quickly. Especially negative on the US financial markets...

There was a time when our family had a high-producing Holstein and dairy goats milking. We made delicious cheese but before long it left us (as our son David said) "circumferentially challenged."

Without the CBO, the budget would be in even worse shape than it is.

Heads up. Pray for missionaries and Bible translators and people who work with them. This outbreak is making travel very challenging.

One of the theories is that the spread of the coronavirus will be halted or diminished by the warm weather season - in much the same way that the flu virtually goes away in summer, or like the Spanish Flue pandemic that receded dramatically in the summer of 1918. This would certainly be good news, allowing the world to better respond and prepare for a fall/winter resurgence, and allowing for more time for all of us (anti-vaxers excepted) to benefit from the development of a pandemic-stopping vaccine (although as usual the anti-vaxers will benefit from the rest of us being vaccinated - and thus not infecting them and their children).

Anyway, if this is the case we should see some evidence of this already in the warm-weather climates of the low latitude countries, as well as in the southern hemisphere where it is now summer. Has anyone read of any evidence of this warm-weather antidote yet?

Last I checked, Norway is not warmer than Italy.

Nigeria has info about the coronavirus there - except they’re simultaneously dealing with another disease that is worse.

Tom Hanks and his wife just caught the coronavirus in Australia where it is now late summer. So that doesn't seem to be an antidote. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/12/worl ... virus.html

Do they stop touching their faces long enough to try the food from time to time?
No worries. We just learned the show has been canceled.
