He had me a little worried, I actually googled Nicaragua to see if the US had bombed it while I was paying attention. The relief of finding nothing was real.ohio jones wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:41 pmNicaragua...
Are you referring to their losses in the World Baseball Classic last week, or has something else been happening recently?
If you mean Iran-Contra, where our meddling in their affairs produced one of our own, surely 40 years should be enough time to draw conclusions on how that turned out.

Well, that's embarrassing. Obviously, I mean Ireland. OK, Venezuela.ohio jones wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:41 pmNicaragua...

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that. I agree with you - attempts at regime change rarely go well. I just doubt that a failure to plan makes them more likely to succeed.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 4:42 pmYour comment seemed to imply that the unwise thing about attempted regime change was the lack of a comprehensive plan for what would follow. History would suggest that attempts at regime change rarely go well even with sophisticated planning, so maybe such attempts are unwise regardless of the the level of planning.

Why do you keep mentioning Nicaragua? I haven’t heard anything from down there and I just spent a week with a Nicaraguan who was visiting us here in Honduras.
Never mind, just saw that it was answered.

Especially embarrassing since I have spent time in Nicaragua. Well, when I'm too tired, I shouldn't be on forums.HondurasKeiser wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 9:55 pmWhy do you keep mentioning Nicaragua? POTUS says Cuba is next.

And Cuba is next by the way, but pretend I didn’t say that. Please, please, please, media, disregard that statement. Thank you very much.
We’ll see what happens, but we’re in a very strong position.”

I pray the Cuban people will be able to manage their own affairs without US intervention.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the families that fled the Castro Family’s Communist Cuba were to go back and resettle. They’d be bringing with them the expectations of a life lived in a Constitutional Republic.
