Undernet’s #linux used to be operated by a fellow from Goshen - I forget his name but he went by “warty” (I think). He’s the one who registered mennonite.net.
I “met” one of my best friends for years there who happened to be from Mennonite parents (Virginia Conference of MC st the time, now MC USA). We still stay in touch 25 years later. Ironically, I am a Mennonite now and he is not (other than an interest in ethnic / ancestry stuff).

We stayed on the Christian chat channels. We started one and helped manage several others. I ran 3-4 bots (Combots). WE also had one programed to quote scripture to open channel. I scripted a cool mIRC bot that would do scripture games. It had like three different games. We had lots of fun in between the jerks that came in to harass. We had a secret weapon. SAM/TIFKAS. She could deal with them quite well and they got tired of our silly antics and would leave.

I keep HexChat running int he background currently. I sit on DALnet in #thespacegame Channel. The guy who made the game and does all the coding sits there. I do most of his beta testing and am kind of the games Wiki. We have a wiki page, but I know more.
