Why would you tell falsehoods? Were you in such a haste to gloss over the neighborhhood problems and to continue to promote your angry anti-Catholic biases? I find your words reflect a heart filled with anger which is not consistent with non-resistance nor peace-making. I think you have a lot more work to do on your own attitudes if you claim non-resistance as a part of your discipleship.
The only one telling falsehoods here is you Max. I'm not sure why you are doubling down on this particular topic when the people who actually live nearby tell you that you are wrong. This is the wall we are actually talking about

And on the other side it looks like this:

From the article it sounds like they were not a good fit for that location. According to the article, they have been complaining about noise in the public park next door for over 10 years. I'm sure they'll be much happier in rural PA.

I, who am a few miles from Lititz and have attended some special holiday services at Lititz Moravian, would question this assertion... (Lititz Moravian church would be on the conservative side). A few of you suggest they would align more mainline and I believe that is closer to the truth.
Grace wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 8:27 am But we need to look at the larger Lititz community and beyond, and the standards held in these communities. The activities at last years Pride event, (as with most pride events), included a vulgar drag show, inappropriate dress, and was non-family friendly,. These activities do not conform to the standards of the community. That does not mean the people In aren't accepting of gay people in their communities, just the activities at these events. This debauched behavior would be acceptable in Las Vegas, of Los Angeles, but Lititz is not either of them.
I would question this as well... "These activities do not conform to the standards of the community." Based on voting records, I believe Lititz would lean more center or center-left... Its city council or some older leading citizens might be different, etc. But Lititz also happens to have some of the world's more cosmopolitan corp./business entities... like Rolex, Claire Brothers, TAIT, Rock Lititz, Pfizer These places' work forces, leadership etc are not exactly 'conservative'...

Lititz appears to be about 50/50. That means there are no “standards of the community”.

The left thinks drag shows should be conducted in front of children. The right doesn’t. There is no standard anymore - just conflict.

That’s pretty nice for a vow of poverty.

Back to the op... If LSP is a private park, then its governing board/etc has a lot of room to allow what they want there... It does have an amphitheater / stage and I assume this rented out, brings in revenue to maintain the park. From the little bit I read last year about the protests, etc the small group of people protesting there did not really represent Lititz as a whole. (I agree with the protesters that the homosexual act etc is a sin, but I'm not sure their 'protesting' or the other baggage they carry earned them much sympathy or changed any hearts & minds...) Per my previous post about the cultural dynamics of Lititz, I doubt a majority of Litiz-ites would side with the protesters. They may not fully affirm the gay pride org. either, but I can't see these protesters winning the majoriy ho-hum crowd over either... especially since the park is not a public one. (This may be a point many are confused on...)

Personally I'm not panicked by last year's event or the recent decision... the Christians in the Roman Empire saw and experienced far worse, more often. I believe God allows sinners to be sinners if they so choose; I don't have to control everybody and everything. If I were called to be at this event and share Jesus with people there (rather than signs that said "Burn Gays") and the organizers informed me its a private park and asked me leave, I would. There are public sidewalks right at/outside the entrance and I assume legally, I could stay there. Some of the protesters didn't do that and thereby guaranteed even less sympathy or a listening ear to their 'righteous indignation'...

The early church did not own parkland which in turn was used for pagan worship against the church/landowner’s will, which is exactly what is happening here.

No, I imagine their property got confiscated first before it got turned into pagan temples.

The opposite is true. As Christianity became the dominant religion of the Roman Empire, a number of early churches were built on the foundations of pagan temples.

Sounds fantastic. Should happen more. Today churches are closing.

I’ll repeat myself: as a general rule, sincere believers do not wish to have their church property used for pagan idolatrous worship rituals. In this case, the Moravian church owns the property but a rebellious park board is refusing to honour the owner’s wishes. The church at this point would have to replace the board.

There is nothing noble or just about what the park board is doing. I wouldn’t try to wrest control from the owners of a synagogue and use it for Christian worship services against the owner’s wishes.
