God works in mysterious ways.

Sept 20 / Voddie Baucham on Truth, Culture & Tragedy | Remembering Charlie Kirk / 2+hrs
In a world shaken by violence and uncertainty, Dr. Voddie Baucham delivers a timeless message on engaging a culture at war with God. Though this sermon was not originally preached about Charlie Kirk, its truth speaks powerfully to the recent tragedy surrounding his death.

Voddie reminds us that the gospel offers hope in the midst of brokenness, and that Christ alone is the answer in times of grief and confusion.

Scripture Focus: Romans 1, 2 Timothy 3, John 14
Speaker: Dr. Voddie Baucham
Theme: Faith, culture, truth, and hope in the face of tragedy

Sept 25 / Voddie Baucham Passes Away / -19min

1969-2025 A young man.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Do we not appreciate a God fearing government? If not, maybe America was the wrong nation for those under persecution to flee to. If our desire is to not have God fearing maybe countries like Cuba, China, India, etc would be a better place to live.
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

I don’t see any mainstream politician fearing God.
All of the conduct and life style does not reflect that. Broader society has much ungodliness that is not limited to the left or the right.
1Ki 19:11  And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
1Ki 19:12  And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
1Ki 19:13  And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave.
God is not in the loud voices yelling on either side.
We are in the time like Elijah where the God fearing nation serves self.

This Pastor's Podcast is a weekly 20 min discussion, this weeks was “How to maintain a sound mind”.
One pastor grew up Amish, I think the other came from Beachy.

I appreciate what was said here including towards the end where there was the “understanding “ of Charlie Kirk & his mission- but the whole 20 minutes is good, much to glean. (Last week was part 1 of how to maintain a sound mind- as an Amish tragedy in our area took place because of a major deception causing an Amish mother to sacrifice her son & the Amish father died as well).

The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.(if we are quoting Old Testament)
All I can say is there is a great spiritual battle going on for the souls of youth. What are you doing about it? Do you have the same depth of care and concern as Charlie did?

Vengeance is the Lord’s.

Why trust in the might of politics?

I’m not in the habit of comparing myself to others and what Charlie did or did not do wasn’t my point.
What I spend my free time doing on occasion while I’m stuck alone with my non-verbal patient is contending for the faith. You obviously disagree with my views but this battle you speak of has ebbed and flowed for the entirety of mankind’s existence. I see a great danger in allying with a side and you don’t.
Pres Trump does not reflect forgiveness while Charlie’s wife does.
Who reflects the kingdom of God there? Can you admit it?

Discussion of Stephen Miller and his speech is happening in the Politics thread on CK. Let's keep it there.

This wasn’t a church service, this was a memorial where many people spoke to honor Charlie. Many of which seemed to “know” Christ-not all- but it was to honor Charlie. It was good for our President to hear Erika’s forgiveness for the man who just assassinated her husband and father of 2 young children. It was good for the world to hear it too. Trump was honest about how he feels about his own enemies and he said “maybe” Erika could help him with that. Trump talked a lot about Charlie. They had a special relationship. Trump shared things about him that I imagine most didn’t know. Trump obviously loved him, and his family.

Exactly. Our lives should still reflect Christ outside of church. Jesus says quite plainly if you don't forgive others, you won't be forgiven. I trust you and I agree on who reflected the Kingdom.

We agree, Trump was honest, I don’t think he shows any less love for his enemies, than the posters on the forum who seem to hate him. Even though his enemies continue to try to take him down for the last 9 years continually. He’s done nothing to warrant the hatred for him on this forum by many so called kingdom Christians/
At least he was honest. At least he said maybe Erika could help him with that.

I agree 100% . So many posts criticizing Charlie Kirk's memorial service. I didn't agree with everything that was said but also don't think all the criticism is warranted. No one is perfect and God still uses imperfect people to bring people to Himself. And we are seeing people so moved by the memorial service especially Erika Kirk's testimony, they have decided to change their lives, start attending church, start reading their Bibles, forgive people they hated etc. Yet that is completely overlooked by some here, who choose to only focus on a few speakers who were less than stellar. I am fearful all the criticism is a byproduct of a real and strong dislike for Trump.

There are many instances where God used less than stellar people in the Bible, to bring forth His will. People like Rahab the prostitute who helped the Israelite spies, Gideon the cowardly warrior yet God used him to lead an army. King David was a murderer and adulterer who was still called a man after God's own heart. Abraham, who lied about his wife's identity. There would be more.

It seems to me, Trump is so disliked, it takes precedent over being grateful for what God has and is doing through Charlie Kirk's death and his memorial service.
