JBG you have said enough that it seems you support protesting and BLM. BLM have themselves admitted they are a Marxist group, that for one are trying to abolish the police. The words and actions being made by them show a disrespect for authority and NOT because they are obeying God - this is not a biblical mindset. And what is even more strange is that you of all people are a principal of a school yet can't see the continued violation of biblical principles by these people you support. You are undermining yourself and worse yet the Christian faith with the influence you have over so many children. Really, people here care enough to say something. It seems you are too certain of yourself to really listen however...joshuabgood wrote:Sometimes the way of Jesus seems to dovetail with the left and other times with the right. Yes...I am aware my views have shifted slowly and overtime. If you were to go back 15 years, had MD not burned up, you would have seen me articulating other points in the race question, quite vociferously. Some of the longer running folks probably remember that.
I am grateful for the myriad of voices that discipled me, patiently, though firmly at times, along the way. But interestingly, the Marx I read, I read long before this shift happened. So I don't think it was Marx.

On what basis did you draw the conclusion that I support BLM?

You are very confused it seems about what you are posting on here since the thread on Honk to show your support http://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2954 you said honk for BLM to show your support:joshuabgood wrote:I dont support the formal organization BLM. One has flags and honk to support first responders.
One has Black Lives Matters signs and banners.
What would you do?
If you didn't mean that you support BLM then this is but one example of how you are very much contradicting yourself on here then.joshuabgood wrote:Honk for both.

Thanks for asking for further clarification. I would honk for signs that say black lives matter. I dont support the formal organization. Most people with black lives matter signs have no connection to the group. My neighbor, a black lady, had a sign up in her yard. I suppoer that sentiment. It has nothing to do with the formal group.Wade wrote:You are very confused it seems about what you are posting on here since the thread on Honk to show your support http://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2954 you said honk for BLM to show your support:joshuabgood wrote:I dont support the formal organization BLM. If the poll referred specifically to the formal group and all its positions, I simply misunderstood the poll. However the vast majority of protests are not organized or directly connected to the formal group. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to clear that up for you. No....I am not confused about it.

Re: Who speaks for the black community?
Honestly I don't even know who the 'formal Black Lives Matter' group is or if they even exist within 500 miles of me. All I see are what looks like local HS and college kids holding up signs at our local small BLM marches that past several weeks. They are just doing their own thing and not being orchestrated from afar.joshuabgood wrote:

Too much media is the cause of the desensitization to the recognize the orchestration from afar and unknowingly supporting Marxism. It's like Szdfan said before if people just paid attention they could have seen how honestly evil Hitler was.Ken wrote:Honestly I don't even know who the 'formal Black Lives Matter' group is or if they even exist within 500 miles of me. Re: Who speaks for the black community?
Supporting black people is not the same thing as promoting Marxism. Black Lives Matter is a slogan that resonates with a whole lot of people who do not support Marxism, and most of the protesters do not support Marxism or the Black Lives Matter Foundation. And to be blunt, I think we might all be a little shocked if we were fully aware of who is manufacturing political talking points that filter down to us and find their way through our mouths. There's some evil on both sides of the aisle here.Wade wrote:Too much media is the cause of the desensitization to the recognize the orchestration from afar and unknowingly supporting Marxism. Really, this ugly name-calling just needs to stop. JBG is no Marxist. He is not supporting Marxism. And neither are most black people who protest against police brutality and racism. Or the white people who are protesting with them.

Where are the people loving their enemies? Where are the people doing good to those that curse them? NONE of them are protesting. Protesting is at the core so much of the opposite of the heart of Christ - Wake up!Bootstrap wrote:Supporting black people is not the same thing as promoting Marxism. Re: Who speaks for the black community?
I don't think you are loving JBG by falsely branding him a Marxist. I don't think you would feel loved if someone falsely branded you something equally emotional. That's political faction-building, not love. Wake up!Wade wrote:Where are the people loving their enemies? Where are the people doing good to those that curse them? NONE of them are protesting. We need to stop invoking the heart of Christ or the Bible if we are mostly going to use political talking points to whack each other on the head. Perhaps we should start another thread to actually explore the Bible, the heart of Christ, racism, and a Christian response?
