Russia Invades Ukraine 2022

They have been sent for that reason but as to why they are in the military and what their society, culture or nation demands of them, this is governed by honor.

Couldn't that be said of most soldiers for most armies?

Re: Russia Invades Ukraine 2022
Well, Trump has announced his big plan for ending the war in Ukraine. He's going to put tariffs on Russian imports if Putin doesn't end the war: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/22/trump-t ... e-war.html
Trump seems to have only one playbook: Tariffs. And he doesn't seem to understand how they even work or who pays them.
If that was his big plan to end the war in 24 hours I think people are going to be disappointed.
Apparently no one told him we only imported about $3 billion worth of goods from Russia in 2024 which was mostly platinum (used in catalytic converters) and various chemical fertilizers. That is about 0.1% of the Russian GDP. https://oec.world/en/profile/bilateral- ... artner/rus In other words, it is less than trivial.President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to impose “high levels” of sanctions on Russia and tariffs on imports from there if the country did not reach a settlement to end its nearly three-year-old war against Ukraine.
Trump’s warning, made in a social media post on his third day as president, called out Russian President Vladimir Putin by name.
“If we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way — and the easy way is always better,” Trump wrote.
“It’s time to “MAKE A DEAL.” NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!”
Trump had repeatedly said that he could end the war in Ukraine in one day if he was elected to a second, nonconsecutive term in the White House. The war began in February 2022 with an invasion by Russia.
“They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done — I’ll have that done in 24 hours,” he said in May 2023.
That did not happen on the heels of his inauguration Monday.

I’m surprised by how little attention this war has gotten from Trump in recent weeks. And the little he has said, he has been more hawkish towards Russia than he did while campaigning. He’s elected to continue aid to Ukraine for now, which he campaigned against. And he has been seemingly interested in continuing the war support in exchange for future business. Before he was all about cutting off the money spigot.
I find it fascinating how he can command attention and change the subject. And how he can do an absolute U-turn, and his followers promptly do the exact same thing. It’s like the child’s game of Follow The Leader. Sort of inspiring, in that we should all follow our Leader in full faith and as unrelenting and unreservedly as they do.

On May 31, U.S. President Joe Biden permitted Ukraine to target Russian positions near the Kharkiv border with American weapons, though he explicitly prohibited strikes deeper into Russian territory, including Moscow and the Kremlin. .. ..

i questioned biden’s abrupt U-turns on P.246, boot immediately responded, “presidents do that”.
With Trump, many have gained hope, “there’s a method to his madness”, with hope his methods continue to strive for peace,
“the shortest distance between 2 points isn’t always a straight line”.
There was never any hope biden’s madness was anything more than ham-fisted madness.
Even by many in his party, including obama.
Yet on and on he went, without msm doggng his every breath. He was supported until it became impossible to support him.
George Clooney stepped in (because reportedly obama didn’t want the heat).
Then, he STILL went on and on, for 2+more months!!!
P.246: better example

In the second video, he (once again, “sternly” promises) Ukraine will NOT use these jets to cross into Russia.
O.yeah. Count on it.![]()

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Trump has a call with Putin about ending the war. Clearly Ukraine is going to lose the territory Russia has taken by force. A very bad deal for the Ukraine. Russia is rewarded for its aggression. Short of the West (particularly the US) giving Ukraine massive military assistance, which it would not do under Biden, this is always how it was going to end. Putin is strengthened. Trump gives him legitimacy by hinting he would visit Russia. It is sad.

While Trump was in his first term, he advised Z to find a way to get along with Putin.
Z wiggled in his chair, no response. (Pretty sure he’d already been seduced by the Left-West, not a difficult task.)
Putin crossed the line, was met with full military response.
Unlike in the U.S., generously rewarding illegal border crossings.
“Do as we say, don’t do as we do?”
Millions reportedly dead. For what?
Without Left-West involvement, Putin might have crossed the border, or not, maybe threatened, if Putin had been met with negotiation, not fire power, end of story.
Would Putin have been wiser to send millions across the border, unarmed? i often wonder.
Outside a miracle, Ukraine seemed destined to lose, in part or whole. It was a matter of time.
Next comes the question of “At what cost of human life?”
(For the MIC, the distasteful question of “At what sacrifice of profits?”) $$$$

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.
